L. Campbell: I highly recommend having 2 people to put this table together - there are some parts of assembly that would have been a lot easier with another set of hands (balancing, holding in place while tightening screws) and there are a few bits that are difficult to reach in order to assemble. BUT, all that said, I'm a single woman (50 yrs old) and was able to do it myself so it's not all that hard.

The wood is a nice color, very basic. The texture is a little rough though, and the "wood" inside when the top is opened is obviously plywood/fake. But it overall seems to be sturdy and functional. I use the top up while sitting at my sofa for eating dinner or working from home. Be aware of the measurements of the tabletop when it's open though; for a couch any higher than mine it would be too low.

I'm overall pleased; for the price I have a nice-looking, functional table that converts into a place to eat or work, and the inside storage area is nice to hide away remotes.

Dannette D.: I love the quality of the piece (real wood!) and how wonderful it looks in my living room. I am returning it for one main reason: I can't use it for the purpose I intended, which was to use the table to eat from. I cannot get the table close enough to me to comfortably eat off. If there were no bottom shelf, I could pull it closer. That is the big problem I have. It's also an inch or two short to use it to eat off, for my comfort, anyway. The minor problem I have with it is that it annoys me to have to get up, go on the other side of the table, and pull the knob to lower the table. I could have lived with that.

The positives: it looks wonderful when put together. I could not find anything comparable in quality or looks for a similar price when trying to find a replacement. The storage area doesn't have hardware that takes up much room or is in an awkward location. Except for the last two screws, it was really easy to put together. Overall, it was still quite easy. It is packaged carefully, with the consumer in mind. The styrofoam is shrink-wrapped, so you don't get all those little annoying white balls of static all over the carpet. JanaeJanae: The wood table top was slightly uneven/warped and one side doesn’t rest on the base when down (as seen in pictures). It’s not very noticeable for daily use and at the price point I’m happy with it. We will be painting it as the seams in the wood surface are very obvious in person and make it look cheap.

On the plus side the table is sturdy when up and easy to eat on and our 1 year old can pull on it without it coming down and pinching fingers bc it has a simple lock mechanism. Easy to use and a good price. Quality was as expected at the price point!

France: J’ai commandé une table de couleur noire. Elle était très bien emballée. En la sortant avec précaution de sa boîte, j’ai remarqué que le dessus comportait une fine égratignure en plein centre, ainsi qu’un autre défaut en relief, semblable à un «noeud dans le bois». Il y avait également des empreintes graisseuses à chaque extrémité du dessus. J’ai pensé que ce serait encombrant et compliqué pour moi de retourner un aussi gros article. J’ai donc choisi de conserver la table, plutôt que de prendre la chance d’en commander une autre avec une finition qui ne serait pas nécessairement parfaite, en espérant que les marques ne seraient pas trop apparentes. Malheureusement, une fois assemblée, la couleur noire fait en sorte que les défauts de finition sont apparents surtout à la lumière du jour. Le prix est trop élevé pour un article neuf qui comporte des marques dans la finition. Je souhaite ajouter, que la table est très solide. L’alignement de certains trous laisse à désirer. En aplatissant légèrement les gougeons avec des pinces, ça facilite l’assemblage!

KAM: I love the look of this table. It came on time, no marks or scratches, well packed, easy to put together, all the hardware was enclosed. The only problem I had was the 4 black screws that attach the sides of the table were impossible to screw in. I tried everything including screws I have at home and nothing worked. So I now have to go buy some screws that are a little longer. Be prepared to have different screwdrivers on hand and a small hammer. Since I have no children I have it together and am using it but the legs are wobbly because of the black screws. When I purchase the screws and have them in I will send a picture. The best thing about it is the mechanism that lifts the table top is already installed so no need to install it. If it wasn't for the screws I would have given it 5 stars. I would buy it again!

Lily & PapyrusLily & Papyrus: Did a bit of shopping around, read a lot of reviews (amazing how many people leave bad reviews when something isn’t the size they expected although the dimensions are clearly listed) before settling on this item. Was a little wary as quite a few bad reviews mentioned incorrect colour item sent. Nearly did not purchase for this reason but I decided to take a chance.

Item arrived promptly and assembly was fairly smooth and quick. Nothing of real note outside of one screw being misshapen (the screw head had an elongated blob attached, I temporarily fitted it until I could go to a hardware store for a replacement) until I finished assembly and turned the table over at which time I noticed several flaws marring the surface of the table top. The mark looked almost as though the table top had been lightly run over. There were a few small black tyre-like tread marks which I was able to minimize with some very light sanding.

Though not perfect the quick repair works fairly well as the table is for use at my craft station and is usually covered with tools and supplies.

AdventurerAdventurer: I bought this natural wood table for its closed storage area, and ability to raise the top use it for a desk for a lap top, and just bring food, or coffee etc. closer when seated on the couch. The assembly was quick (about 20 minutes) and easy, with well drilled holes. The holes were straight, and it fit fairly well, but the sections do not smoothly line up to each other - about a 1/16 inch offset in several areas. After assembly, the table was sturdy and did not wobble. The natural color is good. It is not all natural wood planking as advertised. It appears to be a good veneer. The drawer bottom (section below the lid) is paper, and will not be able to take much weight. I planned to store books inside, and besides the problem with a paper liner, the area inside is not very big. so will have to use the bottom shelf instead. I have some woven water hyacynth baskets that fit underneath as well, and the fact that it has only two sections instead of the three in similar tables gives more flexibility for larger items to be stored on the bottom shelf. The table does have a weight limit of 45 lbs so do not lean or sit on it. The wood is not completely smooth, and the coating is rough,...
