It is not a Heavy Duty product by any means but it has nice printing and looks nice. I am into globes and my daughter is school teacher so I have been around lots of globes. Believe it or not many globes have unclear map on them

My 11 year old grandson wanted a globe for Christmas. I checked out local stores and only found a few expensive decorator ones. So I chose this model. He's a thoroughly modern kid, so it was delightful to hear him exclaim "Oh boy! A globe!!". We let him do the simple assembly himself. This is a basic, no frills model, but it is detailed, sturdy, and large enough to see clearly. There is nothing like a globe to get a good perspective. We were watching "Mutiny on the Bounty" the next night with him, and we were finding Tahiti, Tofua in Tonga, Kupang in Timor, and Pitcairne Island. It's a detailed globe if it has Pitcairne on it.

This is likely to be, in mid-December, the best purchase I've made all year. Really easy and fun to put together I was really taken aback at the high quality. Did they make a mistake? You can't tell from the image but the colors are very intense, the blue is a gorgeous deep blue, the writing is very clear. It feels very sturdy and the best part is the matte finish, it's so silky smooth that you just want to run your hand over it and it reflects the light in a very soft way. Very very pleased. It's a rare thing to buy a product and be stunned by the high quality.

This is a great choice for a kid's learning tool. The basics are all there. It isn't textured for mountains and valleys, but it's a great value globe. The stand wouldn't take much abuse, so this a tool not a toy. It turns easily and assembles quickly.

My 8 year old nephew wanted a globe for Christmas. Really? A globe for Christmas? Not a new game or toy? So this is what I bought him. I was satisfied with the purchase.
Good points:
The size is right to put on top of a dresser or chest without overpowering the room.
It is lightweight and easy to handle.
The globe shows nations, boundaries, latitude, longitude, and is relatively easy to read since it is not too big. TheThis globe is not the kind that is textured to show geographic features.
The price was right for a little boy who may only have a passing fascination with globes.
The family has consistently used it to look at countries in the news, to find locations we visited on vacation, to help with geography and history lessons, and where some of our family that either live or are visiting overseas are located.
Points to consider:
This is not the type of globe that shows geographic features - textured for mountain ranges, etc.
The globe needs to be assembled. It comes as two hemispheres, and about 4 pieces to the stand. It snaps together very easily, but it will come apart. This is good for storage, but not good if you...

This globe is satisfactory in my opinion. It is very vibrant with color and looks great. Some reviewers had problems with the sturdiness, which is somewhat true, but I still think it's sturdy enough. If you want the old school medal framed globes that were unbreakable from your days at school, this is not for you, but I've had no problems in this category. If you are looking for a ultra accurate globe I will say that this does have some issues when regarding the locations of destinations matching the correct lines of latitude and longitude, although I didn't run into any huge discrepancies. It's still fairly accurate, but again, this may not be desirable for advanced geography students. If you are looking for extreme detail out of your globe than I would say shell out the extra $50 though. To be fair though, it is accurate for the most part. Plus you are likely to find even the smallest of cities on this map. I think it's pretty on spot for the price. If your looking for a globe that helps educate kids on general locations of destinations and displays ocean bodies, than this a is great globe. I would recommend this globe.
