Rebecca M.: It won't cut the egg into equal wedges, because of the hinge, it starts at and angle, rather than directly from the top. It slices perfectly. I also use it to chop eggs by using the wedge cutter, then the slicer, pretty quick and easy. But, if you want 6 pretty wedges, get something else. You'll see in the product picture that the egg is on it's side about to be cut with the wedge cutter. Then the wedges on the plate are perfect as if cut directly from the top.
