Terri Broadwell: We had a lot of good discussions in class.

Bill: Superbly written book covering several areas of diversity, not just skin colour.

Ashley Kelley: I loved the message that this book taught our students- we are all unique in our ways and we bring something special to this world. There was one page I had to be careful about because it could be thought of as stereotypical/offensive to some. With the Dr. Seuss books being pulled for similar content, I chose to skip that page when reading it to my class. I just wanted to be careful. Overall it was a great book with a great message.

PAW: This book celebrates diversity and I am here for it. It’s a great read and we love the story. This book teaches a great message about being diverse and liking people for who they are regardless if they are different than you. This is a great book and I read it to my son every day.

Jessie Cumbee: My sons are 3, 5 and 6; each can identify different things in this story that they can identify with. They enjoy the easy flow of the story and love Diggery Doo (the dragon). There is a lesson found for everyone and a story with a great message. We have read it everyday since it arrived at our boys request (sometimes several times a day).

MBKs: "Teach Your Dragon About Diversity: Train Your Dragon To Respect Diversity" by Steve Herman is truly a cute story appropriate for young kids. The story makes them aware of the differences in all beings and the need to accept and respect others, regardless of diversity. Mr. Herman does so with the help of the story's protagonist, Drew's pet dragon name Diggory Doo, who is saddened when he realizes that he is different from everyone else. But when Drew points out how all kids are actually different from one another in a multitude of ways, the dragon learns that diversity is a good thing. An important book for kids to read.
