Andrew Nelson: Viking no longer provides replacement refrigerator water filters.
I found these work better, and are less than a 1/3 of the cost of what I had been getting from Viking.
The water flows better, and the ice is as clear as ever.

M. C. Alessandrini: I gave the filter only mediocre reviews because of a specification contradiction that I suppose boils down to matter of prospective. Although I bought these filters some time ago, I only installed the first now. So far I cannot comment on taste or life but I did want to make absolutely sure future buyers are aware of this rating issue. These filters are advertised as being tested to ANSI42, which I can only assume is accurate. Problem is that the OEM filter I removed is made by PUR and tested to both ANSI42 and ANSI53 - therefore in reality this aftermarket filter cannot really be recommended and sold as a suitable replacement for OEM as it is not tested to the same quality. The difference in specs are not small ones, first off that ANSI53 addresses heavy metals and other impurities that the 42 does not - in addition to the fact ANSI53 is tested up to 200% filter capacity whereas 42 is only tested up to 120% filter capacity. This can be serious of you squeak out every last ounce of life from your filters as I do. There is no doubt in my mind that these work, and that people taste the difference because ANSI42 addresses taste and such, but you are still drinking contaminates that...

David Pyle: So far so good. Tastes better than the OEM one. I have read they don’t last as long or the pressure declines. I have found no water pressure decline but only time will tell if they last the full 6 months...or more
