When I had mine out, my doctor gave me a face strap with soft gel icepacks, but his did not, so he was holding plastic bags filled with ice cubes up to his cheeks on the first day after surgery. It was unpleasant and uncomfortable, plus he was exhausted from the strong medications and had a hard time keeping them on for long enough.

I found this product and ordered it for him, and it arrived in one day. It is a lifesaver. He can ice his cheeks hands-free while watching T.V. or working and he does not have to worry about holding it up or having uncomfortable ice cubes poking him.

If you are going to have your wisdom teeth out, buy this! Even if the doctor would give you a face strap, this one is far more comfortable. Plus, it comes with two additional gel inserts, so you can always have two in the freezer while the other two are in use! And it doubles as heated gel pack therapy if you need that for TMJ or something related!

jlkelly: Shipped immediately, which was perfect because it never occurred to me he needed one. The band has Velcro for fit and yes it’ll catch in your hair, but who cares! It comes with four gel packs that stay squishy in the freezer so you can swap them out. It smells a bit weird but so do you. Will be using on headaches next.

Kaylyn Lewers: I got this for my wisdom teeth removal (all 4) and it works great! Although it works, there are some downsides. It doesn't stay on, constantly tries to slip off and is hard to adjust the size when it's on. My ears get too cold and they aren't what's hurting, also doesn't cover all of what I need to have cold. My cheeks need it more frontwards too, but if I adjust accordingly, they don't hit the back park of my cheeks anymore.

I haven't tried the heat therapy because I have a heating pad already, but now I'm afraid that they'll melt because of other reviews.

The pros, ice packs stay cold for an hour or so and when I need a new one, they're perfectly frozen, sometimes too cold at first. Glad it comes with 4 ice packs. Also the head wrap is pretty comfy once you get it adjusted correctly, i can sleep in it comfortably. It also gives the right amount of pressure to my cheeks.

All in all, a good product :)

Bradley: Used this for my adult tonsillectomy healing and honestly so lovely to have, gave me much relief. I did however have to purchase better ice packs because the ones it comes with stay cold for about 10 minutes which was not very convenient.

Leanne: I really enjoyed this face ice pack for use after my wisdom teeth extraction. Pretty much from the moment I arrived home until the 5th day I was wearing it. I read the previous comments about this product and went to the dollar store to buy extra ice packs because the ice packs only stayed cool for about 15 minutes. Which was actually a good thing for me because I frequently fell asleep with this on my head and direct ice packs should not be placed on skin for over 15 minutes anyways (for the surgery I had at least). This product comes with an extra pair of ice packs already, I only had to resort to my dollar store ice packs a few times if my other ones did not cool enough in time.

After the 3rd day I switch over to the warm packs. I just boiled some water in a kettle and dumped the water into a big bowl and placed the ice packs in them. They also stayed warm for about 15 minutes. The ice packs did not leak at all and overall I was very happy with this purchase.
