Kindle Customer: This is the first resin I've used, so I have no basis for comparison. The resin itself is quite thick - like a very, very thick syrup. So, this makes it a bit more challenging to pour to measure and then transfer into the mixing cup. Might be easier if I used a measured disposable mixing cup. The hardner is relatively thin and easy to work with. Together they make a thick mixture. Since the mix is so thick, it is difficult to mix without introducing air bubbles. It does, however, allow all the air bubbles to escape during the curing process, so I've not had an issue with trapped bubbles - and I haven't done anything to encourage the bubbles to escape (I'm working with only about 5-6 oz of mixed product). Overall, however, the resin finishes very nicely, levels well, is clear, colors nicely, if that is what you want to do (so far I've made bracelets with it), all with minimal odor. I've ordered another 32 oz kit of a different brand just to see if there is a difference in working with the different resins. If other resins are similar in thickness and working with, I would have no issues with coming back to this particular one.

Interested ReviewerInterested Reviewer: Nice epoxy that gives a nice glass-like finish that we love. Beware, though, that the quantity you may see mentioned could be misleading. The product description on Amazon says that 32oz would cover 6 square feet, but this is contradictory to the documents that come with the product. The actual instructions say that for 4 square feet, you need 11oz for the seal coat first, followed by 32oz for the flood coat. It was only by accident that I managed to get by with only a 32oz kit (16oz resin, 16oz sealer) to cover a 4 sq ft furniture top, because I had previously applied polyurethane and did not use a seal coat. Otherwise, I'd have had to order extra epoxy to complete the project.
There are a few things to consider in deciding how much to purchase, and things you may need in order to help in the application:
1. Instructions recommend first applying a seal coat before applying the primary ("flood") coat. This is to prevent air in the underlying surface from creating bubbles. This means that if you order exactly to furniture size according to some written statement, you may potentially not have enough product depending on the size of the piece etc.
2. The bottles do...

R. K.: Very good epoxy. As previous customers have mentioned - this gets a lot of air bubbles during the mixing process. This is actually very normal for epoxy. But, that can be fixed relatively easily by adding 2 - 3 drops of wood alcohol to the small batch (might need more for larger batches). Mix well again. You will see the size of the air bubbles diminish significantly and the viscosity increase. The alcohol will dissipate during the heating/ curing process. Pour the content onto paper plate that has been wrapped with aluminum foil (not entirely necessary) - this will also help dissipate the air bubbles and extends the working life of the epoxy. Once you have applied the epoxy use a heat gun or hair dryer from a pretty good distance and evenly blow it until the any remaining bubbles have disappeared. If you get the heat gun too close you run the risk of burning the epoxy - so start out from a distance and work your way in. A good way to gauge is by placing your hand right over the surface you are applying the epoxy and feel the heat. If you have to snatch your hand away then its too hot. I start at about 12 - 14 inches but it may differ depending on make, model, and settings of the...
