Erin Chaffe: I read a lot of the reviews before I purchased this tiller and even though they were all great, I was still skeptical. This is the first time I’ve used a tiller and it’s fantastic!! As many others have said, it does pull a bit when you go forward but you just have to get used to it. Go forward and then pull back. I’ve used it to till my vegetable garden (10x5) and to start a new flower garden. It’s powerful and very easy to use when you get the hang of it. For reference I am a 47 female.

Michel F: I bought this tiller mainly because it was inexpensive and the reviews were good. I was slightly worried that it would not be powerful enough to get rid of all the fine roots and packed dirt in my garden. It worked much better than expected. I usually turn the earth by hand in my small garden and it can take me between 45 to more than 60 minutes. It took 10 minutes to do 2 passes with this tiller and it did a much more thorough job than I could ever do by hand. It is powerful, quiet and light. The handle on top of the motor makes it a breeze to carry around. It was also easy to assemble. Dealing with an electric cord attached is not that bad but be careful because the machine pulls strongly forward when you pull the handle.

My garden is only about 100 ft/square. I would still use this tiller for a garden up to about 200 ft/square. Passed that, I would rather have a wider machine. I'd like to find one negative with this tiller but so far I can't. It exceeded all my expectations. The motor part seems very solid compared to the slightly flimsy handle assembly but at this price, I think this is as good as it is going to get. For a machine that I'm going to use...

Liz: My little tiller/cultivator is the best one I've ever seen for my little garden. (It is my 2nd in 11 years and not a single problem.) It is a tough little machine which does the job. My last tiller, my husband had to replace the tines quite often. Finally the tines could no longer be found. This one - nope. It just chews and chews up the dirt. A big rock can stop it, but that happens with all tillers. It throws out small rocks with ease and just carries on. I clean it after I use it and put it away for another season. My garden patch is about 12' x 24'. (It expands a bit every year.) This little guy makes tilling a pleasure. I can't think of anything I would change on it. You have to be careful, as with any electrical machine, not to let the power cord come in contact with the tiller blades. I love my little tiller.

Amazon Customer: I originally purchased this tiller for a new vegetable garden. I was starting from scratch and needed to till last years grass and weeds to create the vegetable garden. It did a terrific job for such a small machine. I admit it did have difficulty when the ground was wet, directly after a rain, but after a couple of days drying time, it easily went right to work! I took my time and it tilled several inches deep. I tilled it several times in different directions as my soil has clay and I mixed in both peat and compost. I was only able to do about 20 minutes at a time as I have arthritis and carpal tunnel in both arms which was aggravated by the vibration however it still did the job amazingly well. Nothing seemed to slow it down! I then tackled my new flower garden which is about 30 ft x 50 ft. This took several days for me to accomplish and it easily chewed through grass, clay, shrub roots and even some large tree roots buried in the soil. I am totally impressed by this machine as are all my neighbours who watched the progress. It was well worth every dollar of its cost, especially as renting a larger tiller ranges from 80 - 100 per day in my area.

LMMali: I purchased this rototiller to till several raised beds of different sizes. This fits really well into the space, the ability to raise the wheels is great for tight spaces or tilling close to an edge. It was super easy to put together (only had to assemble the wheels and handle). It's surprisingly powerful and does a great job tilling. The only issue is it can be difficult to move forward, it tends to dig down in one spot, not move and kick up a lot of dirt. I found pulling it backwards was the only way to move it down the bed. Otherwise it's light weight and easy to maneuver.

G: Initial Review (Will Follow Up if Necessary)

I skeptically purchased this because a) I live in an area with very thick clay, actually the hardest/thickest clay I've ever encountered. I moved in about a year ago and after, literally, days of going at various parts of the yard with a pick ax and mattock, my back and shoulders told me that there is no way I'm going to do it again. b) it was electric and I just don't have a whole lot of faith in the power of electric tools versus gas powered tools.

I simply couldn't afford to buy a gas one and I figured with the size of our yard and how much work I have planned, renting was just not economically feasible... so for under $100, I figured I might as well give this a shot.

Received this this afternoon. Assembly was relatively painless -- took less than 20 minutes to assemble, only tool needed is a Phillips head screwdriver to attach wheels and control handle -- the bolts for the handle are done by hand. The motor, handle, tines, and most of the motor is metal, the wheels are plastic, as are the control handle and sheath that goes over the motor.

It was late in the afternoon I just wanted...

D. Engel: I just had this tiller delivered yesterday. Assembly was pretty straight forward. The included manual was useless. I just used the picture on the box and did fine. The wheels are cheap plastic but they look like they could easily be replaced if needed with better quality wheels. The construction for the rest of the unit seemed very solid. It was definitely built to work and take some abuse.

After putting it together I was ready to till some hard clay dirt in my yard. We planted grass in our new yard and it grew in nicely around most of the yard but it didn't take in a smaller section, probably because the dirt was too hard. This is why we bought the tiller. I hadn't used a tiller in several years. The last one I used was a commercial grade gas tiller (a big beast). It was pretty easy to handle. I was expecting very little from this tiller because of it's price and size. I turned this on and it ripped right out of my hand and I almost face planted it in the dirt. I gave it a second try and held on tighter. I was completely amazed with its power! It felt stronger than the commercial tiller I used years before (the commercial tiller is probably designed to be...
