Diogenes: This is the second Duxtop induction cooktop that we purchased. The first one has one element and worked great. And this one is doing the same. Easy to use and highly recommend. If you are not sure about getting a induction range, try these cooktops first. They will convince you that your next range will be induction - super fast cooking. Just remember it only works with pots and pans that have bottoms that are attracted to magnets - you can test you pots and pans with a magnet to check.

Annie Cell: The Duxtop has many features that are such a help for precise cooking, safety and energy saving. I hope it lasts forever. It will boil water quite rapidly, simmer food for flavor enhancement, brown food perfectly and do many other cooking steps with ease. Stir fry can be messy, but placing a paper towel on the surface will catch all the little splatters.

Somebody: There is a bit of a learning curve regarding how high to set the temperature, and I was a bit alarmed about the squeal it makes until I read about triple-clad pans doing that. Once I learned that the noise is normal, I stopped worrying and started enjoying how this thing cooks! It boils water super fast, but immediately drops to a simmer when needed. Perfect for cooking rice without boiling over.

I was a bit concerned about how it cuts power back on one burner when needed to run the second burner, but it really isn’t a problem. I’m finding that even half power is plenty for everything I cook. I thought about getting two individual burners, but realized they would each need their own circuit breaker, as plugging both into one outlet on the same breaker would cause it to trip if they needed more than the 1800 watts this unit maxes out at.

I like so many things about this. I’m combining it with a countertop oven, so no need for a bulky, costly induction range. I’ve been using it for a few weeks. So far, I love it!

Georg T.Georg T.: Okay, what do you do when the house you just rented still has the original 1959 stove that was installed when the house was built? You try it out, and then you get a Duxtop Induction hot plate! We were tired of waiting and waiting for the old heating elements to reach temperature, so we ordered this modern solution of a two-burner induction cooktop and set it up on top of some ceramic tile. Since we had already checked our everyday cookware by seeing if a magnet would attach to the cookware and it did, we knew our pans would function with the electromagnetic elements just fine.
What is important to know is that while the burners can handle a larger pan, say a 12 inch skillet, the burners will actually only heat up the smaller circle area. Do your cooking knowing this, and just move food around in the pan appropriately. For example, if frying chicken you’ll put pieces in the center, wait for them to brown up, then move them to the sides and fill the center with more pieces, that sort of thing. The whole pan will be warm, but the center will have the most heat. Also important to know is that the temperature control feature works great! No more wondering if the oil is going to...

J. Juliano: If most pots worked on an induction portable stove, I'd give it 5 stars. It's very nice and lots of space and gets very hot quickly. But finding a pot or pan that works was interesting. I didn't know these things require a pan that has steel on the bottom or cast iron. Just check the bottoms of your pans with a magnet to see if yours work. The directions explain this too.

Michael Reilly: We use it instead of our ceramic stove top as it's much faster to cook with (virtually no waiting for the pan to heat up) and more energy efficient. Any pan that has a magnetic bottom works on it.

Amazon Customer: I'm super happy with this, as I did not want to use my gas cooktop. I turned off the gas and put this on a large cutting board, and now have the functionality I need. Easy to keep clean.

Travis: Having used a single burner Duxtop daily for a few years, and quite satisfied with it, I expected this model to, at the very least, perform on par or exceed my expectations as the price point is more than double the price of a single burner model. It’s used it daily for 2 weeks. The highest setting will barely maintain a simmer and the lowest setting (expecting to maintain a simmer like my old one) can’t even reach a temperature needed to cook something. It’s definitely not worth the price point. Will be returning shortly.

Steve Graham: I used to use the single burner cooktop and upgraded to the double element model. It’s heats up far slower and even on medium and low settings the left side keeps a higher temperature that the right. If I cook two steaks on the same pans, with the same heat setting of 4, the one side is done significantly quicker. According to the manual the right side won’t work if the left side is using too much wattage, makes sense, but according to the manual at 4 both elements combined are way under the wattage it handles.

Unlike the previous model on this one you can’t just turn it on, you hit power then need to hit the menu button first then select the setting you want. I much preferred when I turned it on and it was on at medium temperature.

They’ve added fancier settings on this model but frankly they’re not really functional. The boil water button only works if you have the proper amount of water, too little boils it off and too much doesn’t boil. The keep warm button isn’t very useful either. It there’s going to be a menu button and extra buttons I feel like it would make more sense to be able to customize the settings, say being able to program a timer for...
