Amazon Customer: The pee mostly trap in the fake grass and smell horrible. I have to wash the grass at least once a day. Ended up not using the grass and let my dog pee in the plastic tray.

Amazon Customer: I was ready to return this because I thought my dog hadn’t used it. I keep it inside when we’re gone “just in case”. She used it and I didn’t even know it until I picked it up! I will be keeping it.

Sue: Hard to get dogs to use all the time. Put kitty litter in tray to help with when they did use for cleaner pick up.

Hicks: Will need two. My dog hasn’t figured out what it is for yet. She laid on it. Looked at me “it’s too small”, and walked away. Maybe when I purchased the 2nd one she will enjoy it more. Purchased a second one.
My dog is house trained and go for regular walks. We only have a small porch. She picked a spot for raining days. So we brought this for our small porch. We put her on it and we believe she thought she was being punished. So we don’t know how to communicate what she is to use it for. We put it in the spot she has chosen for raining days hoping she’d get it. She is not getting it. I have read some of the reviews and will be trying the methods others have to introduce this tool to their fur buddies. It looks nice on our porch.

Don & Jaime: I have trained many pups in my life. I have never used pee pads, fake grass or anything that encourages going to the bathroom inside the house.
Got a pup for my mother in law who wanted to do pee pads. These just tell a dog it is acceptable to go to the bathroom inside the house. So I got this fake grass station in hopes of a compromise. The pup began thinking it was acceptable to do her business inside the house. Began ninja pooping because she did not like pooping on the grass station. The station completely backtracked my efforts. Horrible decision on my part. I have returned the product as it’s extremely expensive for a plastic tray with a patch of grass, that only encourages dogs to go to the bathroom inside the house.
I could see using this on a balcony. But in my opinion. I would buy a small patch of fake grass and put a pee pad under it, or even just some news paper under some fake grass, placed on a dollar store shoe mat. There’s much cheaper ways to get the same result as this pee station. I would not recommend this product for many reasons. And honestly, I would not have one of these for my balcony either, just bring the pup outside for a walk, it’s...

Dave B.: I live on the top floor of a tower and having to take my dog out at 1am is a pain. With this, he goes out to the balcony, does his business and comes back to bed. Cleaning is easy: the tray pulls out and is easy to wash and I dump a bucket of hot water on the pad and then spray it with a urine destroyer product. The only complaint would be that the grass pad is somewhat more absorbent than I would like….some of the urine soaks into it but it gets rinsed with the water. No odour thus far (I’ve been using it for a couple weeks now) but I attribute that to the spray. Overall, good product for apartment pets.

Mina Hasanzada: Here’s what I think about this:
I have a 7 month pup who is fabulous at potting outside. We leaving in Ontario Canada and I for see some very rough weather this winter so I wanted an indoor back up plan. I don’t like pee pads cause it’s wasteful and a reoccurring cost so this seemed great.
- it looks exactly the same as in the photo which is great
- the turf does shed a little bit. My dog noticed that he could chew the sides and little blades of grass go everywhere which was very exciting for him but annoying for me so keep that in mind.
- the clean up isn’t as seamless as I hoped. There is a removable tray but u still have to rinse out the entire plastic base as pee just sits on the grooves. I wish it was designed with a slant so all the pee would travel to the removable drawer.
Overall it is really nice to have an indoor alternative that is a bit more environmentally conscious and sustainable.

Skittles512: I purchased this for my 10 month old miniature Goldendoodle (24 lbs). She is already potty trained to the grass, so I wasn't sure if she would like (or know how to use) this contraption. I normally take her outside to go to the bathroom, but was looking for something to go on our apartment patio for when it was really cold :), and was dark outside, as sometimes I feel it's dangerous to walk her out at night. I was a bit concerned she would get confused using both this "relief system" and going outside, but she learned instantly, and it has not caused an issue at all. When I first put the system on the patio, she smelled it but did not know what to do with it and seemed uninterested in it. I decided to try it again when I knew she would need to potty, so I took her out to the patio with the relief system first thing in the morning straight from her crate. I told her to "go potty" (I have taught her those words in our outdoor training), and she looked around (with a look of where?), but then went over to the fake grass and went. She then danced around for #2 as if she didn't want to use the system, but I kept repeating the words "go potty", and then she then did her business on it....

jude: It took a week for my dog to get used to using this. She’s 9 and the only astroturf she pottied on was the one outside the pet supply store so i know she would go on it if i got this.
So... She would not go on it at all when I first got it but i was determined to make it work. There was a week with non stop rain last month and it was not fun going out there. Rain was pouring and even with her coat and booties, she would not potty outside.
So I finally wised up and i got this for my balcony. At first she didn’t know what the deal was. I would put on her leash and take her over. She would sniff, walk in it, walk off and look at me. So I took a sample of her urine and stool next time she went potty. I smeared a teeny bit (doesn't take much) on the “grass” and that was when she knew what it was for. It still took her several days to go on it on command but over a week later now she’s taken to it and goes right away.
It’s awesome! I took the advice of another reviewer and got some potty training pads to stick in the little drawer where the urine goes and clean up is SO much easier now. I just fold it a couple times until it fits in the square tray. I do feel like...

Amazon Customer: I bought this tray for my dog and the best part is that there is a drain slot in the bottom. I've positioned the drain slot directly over the patio drainage so he's basically peeing right down the drain. This pad stinks up pretty fast, so a big bucket of water to flush it all down is really all that's needed.
Makes life easy!
