Rod: Inexpensive but tough and comfortable to wear. I used one pair to do a reconstruction of a deck on our house including some demolition, framing and finishing. The gloves are dirty but show virtually no wear. They grip well, fit nicely, and are reasonably cool and ventilated on the backs. They should last a long time.
