Durable Cat Litter Scoop - Perfect for Easily Scooping Out Cat Litter

Farm People: My son (whose house we go by to care for cat when he is out of town) uses ceramic litter. Liquid waste pours thru to absorbent layer beneath, solid waste stays with litter. The ceramic litter is too thick for all of plastic scoops I tried, this works well. Because the ceramic litter is expensive and ya hate to be throwing it away.

Brian: I was scrolling through my purchase history to write a few bad reviews on other products and I saw this come up. I normally don't take the time to write a review unless something either really impresses me or makes me mad. This scoop is awesome. The wires are far enough apart for litter to fall through but not far enough for the waste. Plastic scoops are weak and work more like a shovel if you don't wash them and keep the litter from clumping between the screens. This scoop is amazing.

kerning: This would be a great scoop for clumping litter, but the slots are a really awkward size for pellets. Sometimes they get stuck, sometimes the partial pellets fall right through. Very inconsistent. I switched to using a scooper with big holes to get poop out, and a large fine colander/sifter to separate usable pellets from sawdust.

kerinbot: I don't want to sound like an ad or anything but yeah, nobody likes scooping cat litter but seriously this is the best scooper I've ever used. I do sometimes use the old scooper to get out some of the smaller crumbs, but the advantage of the wider spaced bars is that you can scoop through the litter easily and find the most important large chunks of congealed urine and large poops quickly. With a small grid as you pull through the litter you're fighting the weight of the litter and it's hard on the wrist. This scoop lets you get the majority of the material out quickly and easily. It encourages me to scoop more often and keep the litter cleaner. I can't say enough good things about this because it's materially improved my ability to scoop quickly and frequently.

Still happy after like a year or two with this scoop, however I will say that there are probably better brands making the exact same thing. A couple of the welds on mine have broken, but not in a way that makes it less usable. Yet it leads me to believe that this manufacturer does not have the greatest quality control. Many companies sell scoops of this exact same design. Find a good brand and pull the trigger! You’ll never look back, it’s litter scooping bliss, lol. But one other item of note is poor ergonomics. The steel wire cage design is great for the business end of the scoop, but the handle should be more ergonomic and comfortable to hold! I cut off the handle from a broken plastic scoop and inserted it between the handle’s steel wires, then wrapped the two nested handles in electrical tape. Now I don’t get painful carpal tunnel from the bad handle design. So as long as no more of the wire cage welds break, this scoop will continue to function for a long time I’m sure. Anyway, I guess the message of my ~1.5 year edit to this review is that you should definitely buy this DESIGN of scoop, but not necessarily this BRAND! And if the handle hurts your...
