This holds up well when needing to wash in the washer, cat hair clings to it (cat hair clings to everything so....) a vacuum once a week takes care of that. This is used for our 1 messy eater and works great, when not in use the other boys love to sit on it. It is so cute that my messy eaters now sits by this mat when he waits on his food ^_^
