Jerry D Penner: I used this in my lathe to drill a hole in a stainless bolt. I went slow, drilled with light pressure, cleared the chips regularly and kept the bit oiled.
Got 2 inches in and snapped it off.
The tip did not appear dull. Perhaps this bit is for wood and plastic, not steel.
