Bridie Dara: This book is worth reading by those with cancer and their carers, including doctors, nurses, etc. There is hope without the drastic traditional therapies - it is hard work to get your health back, but it can be done, as proven by the testimonies given in this book and on the Radical Remissions website. I am trying to implement all 9 elements as quickly as possible and already I am feeling a lot of benefits to my health.

mac: This work gives me hope. I suffer from stage 4 pancreatic cancer and am not ready to give up and let go. This book has shown me I am not restricted by one road, or choice, and that there are choices to be considered outside western medicine, without steering one away from said western medicine.

Upstate NY Reviewer: If you are a cancer patient and a bit skeptical about all the information and recommendations coming your way from all your doctors, then this is the book for you. One can feel so "out of control" when it comes to cancer scare after a diagnosis and when the first phase of terror has passed. A few appointments that perhaps are contradictory and unsettling may leave you confused. Without being cavalier, this guide puts you back in the driver's seat of your care. It gives you the courage to challenge the ideas that are proposed and to get answers and alternatives that make sense or even gain confidence in agreeing to a proposed plan of treatment. This guide is based on the experiences and research of many, many people and this is not an "extremist" or "wing nut" guide to cancer care.

Steven Fujita, author of Toe Up to 10K: A Journey of Recovery from Spinal Cord Injury: The author, Kelly Turner wondered why some people survive cancer “against all odds” and if the people who do, share some common traits, and what are those traits. This book is a result of her research. I found the strategies pretty straight forward and the individual stories to be inspiring.
However, this book isn’t just for those dealing with cancer, but can apply to many health issues. Reading through these stories and the common traits that these survivors practiced - what I got out of this book isn’t just about fighting illness, but more about a blueprint of strategies to incorporate into ones life.
In 2012, I suffered a spinal cord injury, fell into a semi coma, and when I regained consciousness, was told I may not walk again. Certainly not to even think about it for a year or two. In hindsight, I think that was a code for “you’ll never walk again” due to the research I did based on the (no) progress I had made within the first six weeks. Not to mention a couple of doctors who actually implied that I wouldn’t walk again. However, within six months, I was walking with a cane, and though I still may not walk smoothly, I am at least walking without...

nv2: Excellent book and perspective if you or a loved one is facing cancer. I wouldn't forego any conventional treatments, but this book gives many examples of "mind over matter" type philosophies, which I think are quite helpful and inspiring.
