Ava K.: A captivating book that I believe everyone should read. I appreciate not only the subject matter but also the author's writing style. It's a testament to well-crafted literature, which is truly precious in today's world.

Stephen T.May: This book is not simply a “must read” in the sense we usually think when we read that phrase. But rather it is our responsibility as mates, parents, children and siblings to become familiar with the work of the many teams of scientists around the world exploring the question “Do we have to grow old and decay?”

ALH: I cannot stop recommending this book to people. If you are going to read one book this year, read this one! It gets a little "science-y" here and there, but then he breaks it down in an easy to understand way. We have incorporated some of this into our lifestyle and have already seen the benefits. It's easy to do stuff too (like skipping breakfast, like turning your shower cold for the last 30 sec. etc.) that has already made a difference! Highly, highly recommend.

Alexander: Libro super interessante che approfondisce le cause dell’invecchiamento che secondo l’autore non è l’inevitabile corso della natura, ma una malattia di che si può curare.

Matthew P.: I was initially very optimistic about this book. The reviews were very reassuring. I first came across this book through Veritasium's "how to slow aging" Youtube video. I wanted to learn more about this area. I have been on my healing journey - physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Unfortunately, I found that the author (Mr. Sinclair) overstepped his boundaries towards religion and theology. At one point, the author referenced "Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, and the first Buddha" and gave credit for "their might and majesty", but later he said "there’s another way to view these antediluvian patriarchs—a harder way, but a way in which we should seek to view every living thing on this planet: as our teachers." (p.52-53). I felt insulted with his view of these historical figures as "our teachers". I actually believe Jesus is my Savior. I found that his book was strongly bent towards religious populism.

The author discredited the Old Testament's record and denied that Methuselah lived to the age of 969. Instead, the author equated the Old Testament to a "parable": "Methuselah the patriarch in Hebrew scriptures, who is said to have lived to the age of 969, humanity’s...

S. Mims: Lifespan: Why We Age – And Why We Don’t Have To

This is one of the most important books that I’ve read in the past decade. I’ve been excited about scientific progress against aging for the past 40 years, and have been taking supplements of various kinds since I was in my 20’s. David Sinclair’s book details most of the real progress in the field, with the best examples coming rather recently – in the past few years. Sinclair exudes optimism, which matches my own natural tendency.

As a narrative, the book succeeds in bringing the reader to an understanding of David’s initial motivation in his field, using the story of his grandmother Vera’s lifelong vitality giving way to decline and, ultimately, death. The reader also gets an historical retracing of the road to knowledge of telomeres, CRSPR, Sirtuins, and cell reprogramming. Did you know that there were sharks that have had life spans measured to have exceeded 500 years?

Twice, while in bed reading the book late at night, I bolted upright when a new fact was revealed. The first wake-up was an anecdote in the book about one of Sinclair’s researchers coming to him for help on an issue with the...
