TL Tooling Ltd: Maybe buy summer

Canada on Nov 25, 2022

Rob: Easy to install, wire and use. Just have a buddy ready to lift it on to your rv. It’s heavy.

Thomas Gramson: We used this product to replace a Coleman unit that was cooling the operator’s cab on a portal crane. It was easy to install, other than needing a crane to pack it up to the operator’s cab 100’ off the ground. Don’t forget to order the inside piece as well it is sold separately.

Kindle Customer: We replaced an old Dometic in our 36 foot camper (vented). The install was a simple swap, all holes lined up, the electric plug back in with no trouble. Getting it on the camper was the most "difficult" part of it, and my husband made it look easy. I've seen people "sled" them up ladders as well though. I watched a YouTube video for instructions, very easily done. Some say it doesn't come with instructions, but I found the instructions under the ac in the box. I didn't need them, but they were there.
It works well to keep a 36 footer comfortable, all by itself. It doesn't seem to be any quieter than the original, but it isn't any louder either. We're very pleased with it. Esp with the ease of swapping them out.

LV: We had a AC company come out and try and recharge our old AC unit for $750. Total waste of money. Should have just replaced with this originally. Finally did and the install was extremely easy. Removed the old one (which is 4 bolts and the thermostat wire) and replaced it with this. Hardest part was getting it on the roof of my trailer. It seems a bit smaller so I had to caulk around it for leaking but no issues with unit at all. It only comes with the AC unit that is on the roof of the trailer and not the vent for the inside.

John Ward: This was a replacement for the same unit on a Passport Ultra Lite 195B camper. No instructions were included - as a matter of fact the box was opened and the outside cover slightly damaged-so instructions could have been included but I don’t think so.
It was easy to install once on top of the camper. (I rented a “stock” lift and that made it a one-man job.) It works perfectly - just as the original did. It’s quiet and keeps the camper cool in the late- July Texas beat.

Patricia ShalapataPatricia Shalapata: Had little trouble installing; runs great on an 11000/9000 generator, but wouldn't recommend higher cool settings for anything weaker.

Packaging and protection of shroud during delivery really needs work. Breaking right at the screw-hole is bad enough, but its at least fixable.

Leimaunalani Galeng: AC is easy to install. This was a new install into a converted bus so roof needed to be cut. You do not need the gasket kit that amazon says you will need. It is already installed on AC unit and ready to go. You also DO NOT need the remote control unit the the manufacture says you will (its optional) need BUT YOU DO need the main control unit (Dometic Air Conditioners 3314851.000 Adb Man Control PLR Wht F/All) for the inside as this is JUST the AC unit that you will see outside. Well insulated is the key! I installed this with the insulation incomplete. In the full sun, it cooled the bus but not very well. Full sun after insulation, it gets very cold. The fan speeds are high, med and low. For both air and AC. Low blows pretty hard and high is super HIGH! The unit from the outside (and inside) is quite. I can barely hear it from outside the bus. Overall... unit is great.

SHIPPING... not so great. The box itself didnt have dents or tears but the base of the unit was dented in in several places. UPS driver said it was 150 LBS but its more like 80 LBS like amazon and the manufacture says

gump: I ordered this as a new install for my 2000 drop in camper since it did not have one . Took out the vent and drop this one in with a helper and connected the ac wire . The instructions and 4 mounting bolts were in the lower unit that i ordered separately. Pluged in the lower unit , screwed it into the ceiling and ....done. works great. Took me about 3 hours start to finish and that includes scraping off the old puddy from the vent. The instructions ( which are in the lower unit ,not the air conditioner part) were very clear on how to install both units. The fan is a little noisey, wish it had a quiet low speed but noise is acceptable for the price. Very nice unit.

Spencer in Seattle: The media could not be loaded.  If you want to see how I installed this unit in my converted bus, which is becoming an RV, check out my video. Overall, I found the installation pretty straightforward and was able to complete it in half a day. Note that if you're just buying this to replace an existing AC unit, the install should be easier as you'll just be pulling the old unit, attaching the wires, and putting the new unit in place.

The only downside I have with this unit has to do with the control unit, which is sold separately. First of all, I find that control unit plasticky and fragile. Also, I was bummed out to learn that the control unit did not come with this AC unit, as it has NO CONTROLS! It's overpriced in my opinion given the fact that this unit has no controls in and of itself.

Overall a great rooftop AC unit. As for cooling power, I have a large bus/RV that is 40 feet long. In most larger RVs, I've seen people run two or even three of these units. So it doesn't have the ultimate cooling power or anything like that. But it does blow cold and has not blown my circuits, so I'm happy with it.

One final note: this baby runs on AC 110, so the...
