tms: I have bought millions of these things, and this is the best one EVER! I bought my sister one, too, so we can play with both cats at the same time. It doesn't feel at all like the other ones, it's just better made all the way around, and I love that it's rechargeable rather than having to replace the batteries all the time. My cat is older and has got a bit "fluffy" lol, so this is really good exercise for her. 5 stars!

JLC: Ok, please don't tell my dogs that this is a cat toy. They think they are better than cats. I support them in their delusional thinking. This is their favorite toy by far! It didn't start that way. For one of my dogs it was love at 1st sight. She ran after the light with complete delight. Her sister looked at her like she was an idiot. Didn't her sister know it was just a light?? Hey, wait a minute! That looks like fun!! Now they both run with glee, sliding down the hallway in pursuit of the light. Don't tell your cat. It's fun for all!!

Sheri: when I bought these I didn't pay any attention to the features, just the rating and price.
I had always used the plain dot laser and wouldn't have thought it mattered, but this one projects a few different options, one being a cartoon butterfly. There's something about that silly butterfly that my cats especially love. They seem to think it's a more realistic, exciting prey to chase.
It's also nice that it has a usb on the end sort of like a thumb drive, so it's no hassle to recharge.
