Dobyns Fury Series Casting Fishing Rod - Perfect for Professional Angling Performance

Thomas W Kelsey: I went through a number of rods before I found these. I use it for bass, walleye and panfish and I usually have a shimano dc reel on it. Has lasted very well, have a sock on it. Is very sensitive and has a really good feel in my hand. Casts well and far and I feel every bite and nibble. I have gone through a number of rods that just didn't hold up...this one sure has and I am 80 years old and have had a number of rods come and go. I have just ordered the third one. I would rate this 7AWESOMES out of a scale on 1 to 5. I hope these people don't change anything because this product is special!!!

greg allegrezza: This rod has lived up to its reputation and great reviews. It is a very sturdy and sensitive rod I use for Frogging. Easy to walk the dog with the baits and plenty of backbone to set the hook and get them out of the thick stuff. Highly recommend.

Jim, MD: I bought my first Dobyns baitcasting rod about 5 years ago in a sporting goods store, and was immediately impressed with the quality of the construction and fixtures. At this price point, there's no comparison to other mid-priced rods in my 30+ years on the water. Handles big bass with no twist or cracking. Oh, almost forgot to mention, I now own four Dobyns rods.

LL: I bought this rod for bass fishing heavy baits/lures and/or heavy cover fishing. This is my third Fury Series rod so far. I am happy with the other two, a crankbait rod and a distance caster rod, and am happy with this one, too.

Anyhow, the rod itself is nice and seems to be of good construction. The rod, with the reel I have, is comfortable and easy to palm. This rod is not the lightest, but that does not bother me. The rod has a whole lot of backbone and a pretty sensitive tip.

Like the other rods I have from this series, the real seat threads are very short. The screw has not backed off or loosened, but I think they could be longer without adding a lot of overall weight. The line guides on this rod are beefed up since it is a Mag Heavy rod.

I am very happy with this rod and I think it will serve me well fishing big, heavy baits in and around Florida grass and weeds.

matt goldsmithmatt goldsmith: Decided to pick this up as a replacement for my broken quantum smoke frog rod. I looked through a few forums and consistently saw the Fury being recommended as a good frog rod. paired with a quantum accurist 7.0:1 and 65lb braid. Pulled about 15 fish out of the slop with this rod and I have no complaints. whatsoever.

ElliottElliott: The rod had three bent out guides upon delivery and no support or wrapping to prevent damages from happening. The rod also had many scratches on it. As far as the rod is concerned it is great for fishing in light cover but is to limber for fishing heavy vegetation. I would recommend the rod but not from amazon.

Kindle Customer: Wow!

First The rod. The rod is exactly what I was expecting. I now totally agree that for the price, this is the best frog rod out there. It deserves more stars! 7 out of 5 Stars!

Second, the packaging. WOW! This is how a fishing rod is supposed to be sent!!! There was bubble wrap around the rod which centered the rod in a heavy tube! The end of the tubes where cushioned! Then the tube was then put in a larger box for shipment! Awesome job! 5 stars! I was leery about ever buying another rod from Amazon after buying a high dollar St Croix only to have it shipped flipping around in a large empty box. Now, I have hope.

Update June 29.

I used this rod in Canada to Cast worm/spinner type jigs. It was perfect! It handled ripping those jigs through heavy weeds with ease. It pulled basement diving big walleye up with Zero issues. It landed a 5lb large mouth in heavy weeds like it was nothing. It even brought in a big old musky. I 'm going to get another one.
