Hope: I have used these in my classroom with first graders for years. My students love to color on black paper but the colors do not show up well. I let them use this yellow and the white. The color shows up so well on black or dark blue paper. The kids love to use the special pencils. They seem to sharpen themselves by pulling the little string at the tip of the pencil. Some students like to sharpen with the sharpener. They sharpen well and do not easily break. They last the students the entire school year .

Catbird: I use these for writing range data on my wrist coach while doing long range shooting. You do need a stiff backer somewhere in there, but I do like working with these.

Richard: I prefer these types of markers for rough carpentry - marking stud locations on bottom plates, labeling boards for use, etc. I prefer them to pencils because the dark color shows better from a distance, and they don't fade as much. They're better than sharpies/pens because the markings can easily be removed (if needed), and they last longer in a construction environment.
As others have mentioned, the wrapper doesn't cleanly remove at the perforations. Brand new, out of the box, the wrapper is difficult to get a clean line. I have to use my razor to cut. Underdelivered to my expectations, 3/5.

JessicaG.: My favorite highlighters. Though they probably aren't intended on highlighting books, it is the only thing I will use. It doesn't bleed through and doesn't leave the books very waxy. Though I suggest doing any underlining or what have you first.

Catherine: I use it for artwork, usually Newsprint paper, sometimes regular printer paper. On Newsprint sheets, the pencil works very smoothly, creating nice controlled lines. But if ever i want to sketch something quickly on regular paper, its hard to bring out the smoothness that you would normally get on newsprint and comes out pretty scratchy and rough. But since i mostly use the newsprint, im almost never disappointed in the quality of the pencil.
It can also be used to mark on windows, or wood pieces. These pencils have lots of different uses.
One thing that personally drives me nuts is that they can sometimes be difficult to peel if you dont rip from the notches on the pencil, that are barely visible. Either mark or cut the pencil at the notches so you can see them better, so that if youre in the middle of working and you need to peel the pencil quickly, you can pull the string to the notch and peel off the paper without trouble.

Overall, it has its ups and downs, but its of pretty decent quality. I would recommend it.
