During our social science units on communities, we wanted some books on tools, not merely careers. So we looked for books that focused on tools, but book that little ones could follow. This book fit that need perfectly. The authors go over different tools like nails, levers, and saws. Then they show those tools in use in the images. By the end, they have built a playground using those tools. I was so pleasantly surprised at how we could use this book not only to meet social science learning goals but also could lead to learning STEM goals.
