The Ginger Butterfly: With a few changes (due to nutritional prefernces and intolerancies) these scones, both sweet and savoury, when eaten in moderation (my matabolism won't afford me a healthy BMI otherwise), will be just what the doctor didn't order. Drool.🦋

C. S.: That's right, I'm a horrible baker, but I love the idea of baking scones. First up was the horseradish scones and they were yummy! There are other scone recipes that I'd like to try, but what I really like about the book are the stories that go with each of the recipes. I saw one review say the writer doesn't provide the yield on recipes. They're there, in the upper right corner of the page. Although the write-up for the book mentions dual measures, I didn't find them in the book. I made sure to have my scale available for weighing ingredients and relied heavily on google for some of the conversions. Over, a great little book that makes me want to visit some of the heritage sites.

NanNan: I think that Sarah Merker must not bake. These recipes give NO INDICATION OF YIELD! NOT A SINGLE CLUE! Based on research the recipes calling for 500 grams of flour yield 18 scones. Maybe. This is a MAJOR FLAW. What baker doesn't want to know the quantity a recipe yields? Other than that the recipes offer a variety of scones and some excellent advice on scone technique. Recipes in grams not cups so have a kitchen scale handy. Oven temperatures in C not F so prepare to convert that. Not a deal breaker. Google has that information.

BVLenci: This was a gift for my daughter, but I read it before giving it to her!

Each recipe was associated with a National Heritage site, and had an interesting story. These were well written and amazing.

The recipes look great, with lots of ideas for scones out of the ordinary.

Robin: This book has about 50 recipes for mostly sweet but some savory scones. Apparently each represents a specific National Trust property around the UK. The book is a handy place to try out different scone recipes.
