I am an entomologist in search of great books about insects to keep my knowledge refreshed. This book was more than I asked for. The writing is beautiful and uses myriad vocabulary that would give Donald Trump an aneurysm, and help young adults ace the reading section of the SAT and GRE tests. This is a book you can immerse yourself in and devour page after page of well-organized information about insects complete with beautiful, historical illustrations. The prose flows beautifully and the extra sections of historical highlights is eye-opening and inspiring. I had to force myself to slow down and savor this spectacular piece of work so as not to finish it too quickly. If you are looking for an intellectual and entertaining overview of the insect world, this book is for you. I can't say enough good things about it.
