This was the most perfect and relatable story on multiple levels. From being kind, to giving second chances, to self acceptance. And the included sticker pack has made for continuous enjoyment of the story. Something about this whole thing just warms my heart like no other child’s book has. I’m terrible at art myself, so maybe I even took away some of thst self acceptance too? Will be buying any and all books from this author for sure. Highly recommend!

zheechong koh: Super love it. Scribbling was never more fun. Bought it for my 5 year old. We went on a spree of making scribble figures thanks to the stickers that came with it.

Vicky W: Very cute book with a beautiful storyline. Encourages kids to not be out down when they can only do a scribble because small things grow into bigger things.

Ami: A lot of childrens books try to present simple messages by using difficult concepts or language thats hard for a child to understand. And they receive awards and medals for this by adults. It is adults who decide which kids books to award. This is unfortunate becuase they are not always right. The books that get awards are more fit for adults. They are in adult language, made to look like its for kids.
Well fortunately a book does not need an award to be good, and whether it is recognized as worthy for one or not is not important. This book is an awesome book. It has one message, presented clearly, simply, positively and in a super fun way that is perfect for a child to understand and actually enjoy, without the need for pretentious pomp and frills. I highly recommend. My son and i loved reading it and discussing it afterward. It inspired us to make our own scribbles and to maybe even realize that people, the best people, are scribbles themselves - able to transform, bring color and understanding to those fixed shapes around them, and in the process bring positive change to their environment.

Debbie Buckley: Fantastic book, my children really enjoy making their own scribbles. Wish there were more sticky eyes, nose and mouths we could purchase.

Meghan Engel: Preschool teacher here! I’m always looking for new stories to add to my library so I decided to check this out. The story is cute: a scribble loves his life, loves colors, uses color to express his emotions, but is a little lonely and wants to play. He comes across some black and white drawings that are rigid in their view on life and are not very kind to the scribble because he’s different. Before this the scribble didn’t know there was anything “wrong” with him. Eventually, the drawings agree to play with scribble because they are lonely too and “haven’t had fun in a long time”. In the end they make a masterpiece and become good friends.
The illustrations are cute, but I find the prose lacking. I like the lessons this book teaches, but I am not in love with it. I can’t put my finger on it, but there is something about this book that did not live up to expectations. My students loved it though! They asked me to read again right away!

Jessica D. Adams, Author: This book really hits close to home for me. I am a huge fan of kid art, so I love the kid like drawings in this book. Scribble is made into a cute character who just wants to play and fit in. With rhyming text, the story goes on to tell that other drawings do not want to accept Scribble because he's different and messy. Oh how I know that feeling; To not fit in yet you want to fit in. Scribble is sad at first, but he won't let it get him down. In the end, the colors all come together and make beautiful art together.
Since I love kid art, my daughters illustrate most of my books. It seems that in the publishing world, some do not approve, telling me I need "professional" covers and illustrations. Yet, here is Scribble, telling us to be who you are, and and keep your head held high. Some may come around and like you and accept you.
Thank you Scribble! You made my day! Keep on scribbling!

Aida Rascanu: Adoro i libri di Diana Alber ... è un artista perfetto. Il concetto del libro è ideale per i bambini piccoli. E il modo di raccontare è semplice, ma non superficiale.
