I decided to do a diy no reno update starting with the lights ( two separate pull chains ). I removed the bulb fixtures, then installed the receiver before the first light. I hooked up the other light to the first one. Place the transmitter on the wall like a switch plate. Done ! So easy ! My buddy liked it too. He asked me to replace a chain light in his closet.

Fernando: Instalado en una lampara LED de 12W a una distancia de aproximadamente 8 pies, sin pared de por medio. El boton para encender funciona siempre, el de apagar a veces no funciona y toca quitar el control de su base y acercarlo mas para que funcione.

Motorcycle Fanatic: I used this switch for the lights in my garage attic. Originally my garage had a giant pull-down stairway with a counter weighted pulley system. The stairway took up so much floor space when it was down and it was a hassle to move it up and down. Ultimately we closed off the gigantic hole in the ceiling, which keeps the heat in my garage workspace. We built an outside stairway and put in a full-size entry door to the attic.
The trick was how to turn the lights on in the attic attic - the switch and wiring is downstairs in the garage. I could have run wiring to the attic but I would have had remove a lot of pegboard that covers the garage walls to do so.
This switch was the solution! Easy installation and works great. The switch in the attic works in sweltering summer heat and in sub-freezing winter temperatures. I was concerned that the Lithium battery in the switch wouldn’t work in the cold, but no issues. I installed a plastic blank-off plate where the original wall switch was located.
Works great - definitely recommended.

Brian: Works well but it still worries me that it's not CSA approved. It's larger than I expected and would not fit in the box.

Dan A.Dan A.: Installed in minutes and worked out of the box. Hopefully it will last.
Does not fit inside the metal wall box if it's full of cables, however wall bar extenders are available for cheap. Cap it with a blank plate and it looks all right.

Amazon Customer: We had a smoke alarm hard wired to a place on our ceiling near the top of the stairs, where we would've preferred to have a light, since the area was poorly lit. There was of course no switch for the smoke alarm, so we thought it was a hopeless situation. Who's going to bother with wiring in that situation? (Drywall tear-down, chasing wires, etc). This brilliant little device allows us to now have a light installed where the smoke alarm was, and we can place the switch wherever we want! I am so thrilled with this purchase and this nifty little transmitter. Praise the Lord. :) So cool.

Amazon Customer: We had a fan/light on the loving room ceiling with a pull chain on/off and no wiring for a switch. When replacing this with a ceiling lamp, this was a problem. This remote is a great solution. Went in easy with the rest of the lamp install. The receiver unit that gets wired into the junction box is a bit bulky so might be a problem where there are a lot of connections. In my case, there was only the wire to the lamp, so not much of an issue.

Boris: We are happy with the switch, it does the job. We had a ceiling fan with bulbs, and the light was turned on and off by the fan's switch. When we decided to replace the fan with regular lamp, we found out, that 110V are constantly present on the wires. The electrician suggested buying that switch, instead of paying him $150 :-) (it is a second floor, and he had to crawl in the attic to get the job done). So, before connecting this switch, I just had to be sure to set the correct switch to "OFF" on the main panel. As a bonus, the remote may be taken to the bed :-). One thing I would change, is the holes location. As we installed that switch over the opening of a regular switch. I had to drill new holes in the plastic base panel. It would be much better if the holes in the plate will already be placed like that, so you can use them over the regular switch opening.

John McHugh: The builder of our new unit in a retirement community used lots of pocket doors to save space in the rooms. Unfortunately, they were too cheap or lazy to put light switches where there were convenient if there was a pocket in the way. As a result, the bathroom light switch was about 18" inside the bathroom on a wall to the right of the right opening pocket door. This required fully opening the pocket door and reaching into the room to turn on the light. I was able to mount the remote switch just to the left of the door where it can be reached by opening the door about 6" despite the fact that this location is over the pocket of another door.
Installation was straight forward once I resolved the neutral issue (below). Fortunately, the box where I mounted the switch is deep and there was room for this unit in addition to the multiple junction blocks and wires also occupying the box. It should work in a shallower box if the box is used solely for the wall switch being replaced by this unit but it is a little bigger than most single switches.
Note that a neutral must be present in the box and the switch unit cannot be used to replace a "dangling' switch where a single...

Gil: This remote switch is a blessing. One of our bathrooms has no wall switch to turn the light on/off. We used a pull string light which required frequent replacement from the string breaking or the switches would stop working. I purchased this remote switch and installed it in less than 15 minutes. The remote swich can be placed anywhere in the room. It has worked flawlessly. I had previously installed a motion detection light in the same room but it developed issues with flickering (maybe due to moisture). Since installing this switch, no issues and it looks and functions as a regurar light switch.
