CO: I bought this for my son. All of his tools are on the DeWalt 20v battery platform. He wanted it for doing trim work but we really got a good chance to use it on a plumbing job. He had a small leak in a drain pipe behind a wall in the kitchen. To get to it, we had to cut an access hole inside of a cabinet and cut through drywall and plywood to reach the pipe without cutting the pipe and making it worse. This cutter worked perfect to get around pipes in the cabinet and precisely cut out a square panel. It trimmed it so well, we were able to reinstall the plywood back into the hole. We did the whole job on 1 battery with capacity to spare. He has used it for a bunch other projects, but this one stood out. This is a great tool to add to your arsenal if you already have a bunch of Dewalt 20v tools and batteries.

RickM46: Bought this saw to cut away a piece of drywall that was already installed on a wall.

I needed to cut a 3 X 3 foot access panel between a few studs; I used the semi circle blade and that made the job easy; didn't take long (maybe about 15 minutes) at full power and the small 20v battery made it easily; charged it back up afterward and that took about 15 minutes; when I came up against the side of a stud, the motor did not bog down but tried to keep on going.

As you know, cutting drywall with a saw is messy - tried a blade but too old for that. Fired up shop vac for cleanup.

Excellent build quality; light in weight; strong motor; doesn't take no for an answer; bought extra DeWalt blade kit; for longer cutting jobs, you will need more battery - plenty for sale on Amazon; Happy Camper.

tgoody: I balked about buying the Dewalt oscillating tool when I first started remodeling my house because I could get a cheaper corded Worx version. I should have just spent the extra money the first time around.

This tool is perfect for small jobs, like cutting trim around doors to install Pergo, cutting out A/V and outlet box holes in drywall, or small sanding jobs.

The quick-release lever makes switching out blades much quicker than the alternative allen wrench system others have.

It is light and not having a cord makes it easy to complete jobs without stringing an extension cord through the house.

After looking at all the home improvement stores, Amazon was the cheapest with the most accessories. I was able to get a battery, charger, and bag for less than just the tool would have been at the box stores.

Tim Trinca: I've been doing renos over the last 2 years and am now wondering WHY I didn't get one of these sooner?! What a handy little tool for doing a lot of different things. Why oh why did I wait so long.... Only warning I'll give is DON'T cheap out when buying blades. The tool is fantastic BUT only as good as the blade you put in it.
