Daniel Marshall: This is by far the best griddle/grill I have ever had. I was hesitant to buy at first, since it was a bit pricey. I was not disappointed. Works great. Heats up very fast, gets a great sear on meat extremely quickly. Feels very quality and secure. All metal. I use it every day.

Very large cooking surface. Can fit three large steaks at a time.

Home made burgers cook in 2 or 3 minutes. Can cook three large steaks in ablut 6 minutes

Asad: First and foremost we bought this panini grill mostly to make waffles additional plates are a bonus. It’s been a week we ve been using the product on daily basis and I must say we are quite impressed with each plate(option) . It is increasingly easy to use and clean and large enough to feed a family of 5. I would definitely recommend delonghi as they make very sturdy and durable products. We also have the coffee machine from the brand and so far never had any issues.

AnonAnon: So far I have made, beef patty melts, protein waffles, hot dog panini, tuna melt, grilled chicken that I marinated, lunch wraps, grilled cheese. I'm in love with this thing. Only thing I would love more is if it had a splatter screen to it for when it is in grill mode. It's easy to clean, easy to swap the plates all in all it's a winner!!!

Laura PatrickLaura Patrick: This item arrived with a broken handle although the box was in pristine condition. I don't believe it was Amazon's fault in any way due to no damage of the box. I called Delonghi customer service (who was delightful by the way) to get a new handle under warranty. They just screw in so I thought it would be an easy fix. Delonghi is intead sending an entire new unit with a postage paid return shipping label for the original unit.

It seems to be a very solid product overall and am I excited to have one, but as other reviews now suggest, there may be a bad batch of these grills going out right now with broken handles. Basically everything is metal except for the handle. That is definitely a blunder on the engineering of this product. It also seems that you cannot order a replacement handle if it ever breaks as it is not on the parts list.

We'll see how it turns out on the new unit. I'm still optimistic at this point.

DarkshackDarkshack: We Are Regulars At A Local Place That Sells Paninis, Recently As The Prices Have Gone Up All Over I Thought 'For The Price Of 15 Or So Of These I Can Just Buy A Machine To Make My Own' I Saw This Unit On Sale And Had Good Reviews So I Picked It Up. First Thing I Did Was Make Paninis (I Couldn't Take A Picture Of Them Because I Ate Them So Fast!) They Turned Out F$@&%! Fantastic! We Have Meals Planned Out For The Next Week Or So, This Will Be Getting Alot Of Use! Now There Is A Couple Things I Noticed That I Would Improve, 1. The Cord Is Very Short 2. The Knobs, While The Rest Of The Unit Seems Good Quality, The Knobs Feels Like Light Cheap Plastic, I'm Sure They'll Be Fine Though If Your Not Super Hard On Them. Overall Great Machine That Makes F@$%&! Great Paninis!

Gary: I love this machine. I'm surprised there aren't more reviews and videos out there. I've made waffles, frozen salmon, frozen asparagus, fajitas, panini, bacon, eggs, hash browns, hamburgers... I love using the top and bottom heat at the same time, speeds up the cooking. It's easy to use and easy to clean. It heats up fast. There are some cons. It does take up some storage space, but you can store it upright so that helps. It will splatter so I usually take it out on our deck when making things like bacon and burgers. The price is a little steep, but I think it's worth it.

Amazon Customer: Family in Europe had this super easy, fast, 220v De'Longhi grill.
When we got back to North America we found the equivalent De'Longhi unit for 110v.
Doesn't take up much space in a small kitchen.
We use it outside on a patio table.
Doesn't throw off much heat. Way less than a pan on the store for bacon and eggs.
It is definitely on the expensive side.
Solidly built. The quality seems worth the premium.
So far so good.
I would buy it again.

George H: We've gone through many indoor electric grills, some good and some not so good. So far the DeLonghi America CGH1020D Livenza All-Day is a winner. The grill heats up quickly and seems to maintain the heat settings while cooking. Navigating and setting the temperature controls and timer is easy. Cleaning the grill plates is also easy keeping in mind that the grill plates are still relatively new. We've grilled steaks, pork chops and chicken breasts so far and have been very pleased with the results. The only issue we have encountered is that a small amount of grease does have a tendency to splatter from the sides and front of the grill. I've also not completely mastered how to properly set the top of the grill based on the thickness of the food. We've only had the grill for a few weeks, but so far so good.

Tim Prokipchuk: I purchased this a few years ago after moving into a new place and it gets so much use that I almost cannot express how good of a purchase this was for us. In the colder months when it is too cold to grill or BBQ I've done all kinds of "grilling" with the lined plates, everything from chicken, beef and pork to veggies and shrimp skewers. The flat plates are great for cooking bacon in the morning, it is no mess and takes about 10 minutes with the lid closed. Pancakes turned out great as well. The waffle plates work well for homemade batter, Pillsbury "cinna-bun" waffles or tater tot waffles. I recently ordered replacement flat and lined plates as the original flat ones had started to peel after 2+ years of consistent use for a cost of $75 CDN each set plus shipping, well worth it for the amount of use this thing gets!

Analytical Thinker: I did a lot of research before buying this. The competition is the Cuisinart (less $) and Breville (more $). Together, the three make up this class of consumer grill with integrated heating elements in the plates. Overall, this DeLonghi is nearly perfect. It heats up quickly, is easy to clean, and works well.

My only issue is with the floating hinge mechanism on the side. This is what allows the top plate to float above the food to melt cheese, for example. The mechanism is a pain to use and I still don't understand how to do it. I bought it because the mechanism is enclosed. I should have gotten the exposed mechanism like in the Cuisinart or Breville. At least with them, I can see what's going on and I can set it appropriately.

The build quality is very good. The handle is metal and the unit has some good weight to it.
