Cody: Every recipe we try is fantastic, everyone in the family is loving this cook book! The flavours are so good. Some times the recipes are labor intensive, but it’s well worth the work to see the smiles on my family’s faces.

L: I am an avid fan and have her three other books however as an SCD follower this book strays from her original principals far too much for me. I think she’s trying to target a much wider audience so most of the recipes have far too many illegal ingredients. I was going to send it back but circumstances prevented this so I will keep as it’s a pretty book just not very useful to me.

MacLMacL: I'm really enjoying working through this gorgeous recipe book. Having struggled to switch to a paleo style diet on my own, I turned to this book to get me inspired.
It has got me working with ingredients that I wouldn't have thought to use before and has helped me regain my confidence in the kitchen, even with all the dietry restriction I face!
The recipe photos are beautiful and I find the photo index towards the end of the book particularly useful for browsing recipes and to help me plan our meals for the coming week.
The Açai Berry-Chia Pudding Parfaits in particular have been a big hit in our household!
My only slight criticism is that quite a few recipes have 'ingredients' listed which are in fact items that need to be made from scratch using other recipes within the book. It means that a relatively simple looking recipe can turn out to be quite complex and require a lot more ingredients than you may think at first glance. Still, this is a fantastic recipe book which is getting a lot of use. I'm so pleased with it I have gone on to order two more of Danielle Walker's recipe books in the Against All Grain series, one of which focuses on simple, easy to make meals.

MikailaMikaila: This book has completely changed our lifestyle. My husband has a heart condition and is very allergic to gluten. My son has a very aggressive autoimmune disorder that requires chemotherapy. I've made it a priority to research all of my foods and create an anti-inflammatory diet for my family. The only issue I was having was my husband and son were not enjoying most of the foods I was preparing. Danielle's recipes are easy to follow, utilizes nutritious ingredients that fit our dietary needs, and are just pure delicious. I'm no chef, but I have been able to execute all of her recipes so far, and my family loves them. The thing I love most about this book is that she repeatedly uses the same main ingredients in multiple recipes. So when you buy coconut aminos, don't fret, you will use them again and they are great! Make the investment and get this book. You will feel empowered in the kitchen, I promise. My husband and I both take turns cooking and our son even helps. These are no 10 minute hamburger helper meals. So if you are looking for that, go somewhere else. But if you want to invest in a healthier lifestyle that doesn't compromise taste, look no further. My son is 3 and helps...

SJHSJH: Ok I will start off by saying I almost NEVER write reviews.... but sometimes when something is so life changing you feel compelled to tell the world! My 3 year old was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in October. She was hospitalized for over a week and required blood transfusions, tube feeds through her nose, and steroids. While she was in bed I slept about 0 hours in the week we stayed there. I researched day and night on natural ways to heal my baby. I came across some amazing stories of individuals who found healing through diet and I became obsessed. When we came home I threw out every processed food in the pantry and went head into SCD/Paleo. The first 2 weeks I felt like all I did was cook, and she hated everything I made and we were both crying.... a lot. Then I found Danielle’s cookbooks.... I bought all 4 and I literally felt a weight off my shoulders when I read her story. And surely enough my daughter has been 100% symptom free since we started this lifestyle. This cookbook has become my favorite and I kid you not I bought 13 copies! I gift them to everybody now! I feel so blessed to have her recipes in my life and I feel like everybody else should too! They are not...

Wanderlust Learning: First of all, eating any kind of special diet is hard. And an adjustment. It's a hard adjustment. Add in a husband raised on Southern cooking and 2 young kids and my autoimmune disorder and you have a family with very different expectations for what's on their plate.
I have tried MANY different cookbooks as I've tried to clean up my health. But, I've also always prided myself on being a pretty great cook. It's my craft - I just ENJOY seeing others enjoy what I've made. But it's hard to see my family try to choke down offal and bone broth (standard AIP fare) on my behalf. I started to think my kids would never get to say, "My Mom makes the best..." which is a small price to pay if you're healthy, but it would still be nice to have everyone enjoy what you make.
But this book.... this one.... I CAN eat the food in it and my family WANTS to eat it. Finally! Danielle Walker has young children and from the descriptions of the dishes in the book, she was raised on Campbell's Cream of Mushroom casseroles like SO many of us. She has worked really hard to try to emulate what a traditional home-cooked meal tastes like without compromising your health. There is also a...

Carl Anderson: I am now the proud owner of all four of Danielle Walker's cookbooks, and I have to say that this is her best one yet. Even if you do not follow a paleo diet, there are so many delicious recipes in this book that make eating "clean" easy. Where to even start? Millionaire Bacon, French Onion soup, and Butter Chicken are just a few of my family's favorites from this book. Eat What You Love is packed full of comfort foods that I grew up with, but changed so that the meal is prepared in a healthy way. The ingredients are not strange, just items that I usually stock in my kitchen. Seriously, buy this book. I would buy this book just for the Butter Chicken recipe, it's that good!

scott b.: This book is the perfect addition to my health journey as I try to find cost effective and sustainable ways to limit my family's intake of grain and sugar. Danielle focuses on natural ingredients and is mindful of nut free requirements for kids' lunches. The dinner recipes look quite involved, but after practicing them, and having certain things prepped ahead of time, I'm sure they will be less intimidating. I do not love how some recipes continue on 2 pages and you have to flip the page. I'd rather a half page photo with the whole recipe in view. Also, you might be worried by some new to you ingredients if you're recently grain free, but many can be ordered on Amazon or found at your local bulk food store. This book has everything from muffins, to cakes, to ketchup, and pickles, dips, and crackers, and main course meals. If you're looking for down to earth, family friendly & healthy inspiration, this book is just what you need!
