Make your next road trip a breeze with the CURT 18152 Basket Hitch Cargo Carrier. This high-quality steel cargo carrier is designed for maximum durability and convenience. It has a 500 lbs capacity and measures 60 x 24 inches, with a 2-in fixed shank. It is the perfect choice for transporting extra luggage, camping gear, and more. The CURT 18152 is one of the best Vehicle Cargo Carriers on the market, offering superior build quality, convenience, design, and durability. Take your next adventure to the next level with this reliable and versatile cargo carrier. RC Hobby Man: Purchased this 60" Curt cargo carrier to replace a Curt 48" cargo carrier back in July 2021, and
have used it at the beach hauling our pier cart, large folding chairs, beach bags etc every holiday
including several weeks of vacation for 2 years without a single issue. It has been used on both of
our Jeep JK's with rear tire by purchasing a 12" long by 2" receiver extension. I will never be
without one anymore. They hold up well for beach use. Just rinse off after use. I also use
locking pins on both extension to receiver, and extension to carrier to prevent someone from
removing from vehicle without authorization. I fully recommend this carrier.

Kaleb: This is a very good cargo carrier. Took me about 15 minutes to put together by myself so super easy. This is a very sturdy carrier. Took it on a 7 hour trip with 2 ice chest and has no problems. This is a great product and have no regrets buying!!

Satish MistrySatish Mistry: Quality construction, easy assembly.
Be sure to know what the rating of your hitch is.
The carrier does support up to 500lbs, but for my car the Class 3 (also by Curt) hitch supports up to 350lbs tongue weight.
Since the carrier is about 65lbs, I can comfortably hold about 285lbs. (Though there's probably a tolerance for more, I'd say exceed at your own risk)
I recommend pairing this with an anti-rattle attachment since it removes the tiny bit of play that could contribute to more wear on rougher terrain.

KT: Well built, the kink helps to keep it high off the ground.

Reflex: Does the job. Mine is a tad off level with the bumper but is not too bad. I’ll live with it ( that’s why the 4 stars)

Robert Spencer: We bought this cargo carrier to be able to carry our 100lbs propane tank. Our only truck is a full sized SUV and our propane supplier refused to sell propane to us because we could not transport the tank upright, even though it’s a horizontal/vertical tank. With this we can ratchet strap the tank in an upright position and go the place right down the road instead of the 35-45 minute drive to the next place that can fill a tank that size.
We also ended up using it with our travel trailer to haul a 40 gallon sewage tote to a campground that did not have sewer at the campsites, instead of putting something so disgusting inside my camper. Doesn’t fit the tote perfectly but it works fine with some straps.
My only complaint is that there could be some metal loops installed on the perimeter of the carrier to accept ratchet strap hooks and make it more secure. We had our trailer’s spare tire strapped in next to our sewage tote last trip. While driving down the bumpy dirt road to get out of the campground, the hook slid and loosened the strap enough that the tire fell out. Thank goodness that it happened there and not on the highway! I was able to see it in my rear view...

Drew Paulson: Assembly: 5/5 - Very simple assembly/disassembly. I did have to change the order in which I tightened the bolts so that the frame could be flush/level. Also the hitch tongue can easily be flipped in a matter of minutes.
Size: 5/5 - This thing is huge and why I bought it, so I can probably fit a wide range of stuff!
Versatility: (See pictures). Originally I couldn’t open my back door with this thing on, but then I just flipped the hitch tongue to drop down (took me like 5 mins) and it gave me plenty of room to open the door! I’m sure I’ll be using it for transporting landscaping/small trees, coolers, a bike or two, and maybe even small furniture that I can’t fit inside the back.
Sturdiness: 3/5 - Frame seems stronger than I imagined, but the mesh floor is super thin. Def going to add plywood. Even though it claims it can support 500lbs (distributed)...I will avoid even stepping on it! Also I assembled it on a mat, and I tipped it over on the concrete just once to finish tightening the bolts and it scratched the finish super easily, which now makes it susceptible to rust so I’m gonna have to be soo careful with it.
Overall, I went with this one because of...

SKSK: Great product for extra cargo space for your trip or day-to-day run arounds. Frames are well built and precisely measured. It came in three pieces but you can easily assemble them with a few bolts and nuts that are provided. Unlike other cheap kinds, this carrier won't tilt over time. I've used it for camping trips in sunny and rainy days several times and I haven't seen any sign of rust yet. Before you purchase any cargo carrier, make sure that whether your car's exhaust pipes would be pointing any part of the carrier. Also, you need to check the distance between your pipes and the carrier. I have a Volvo XC60 that has dual pipes pointing rear direction and the car has the "hidden" trailer hitch. The hitch is kinda hidden under the rear bumper and not sticking out but this compromises the distance between pipes and the carrier as well as the direction. The pipes are directly pointing to the gap of the carrier (between bottom frame and top rail) and the heat from the pipes actually burnt plastic materials such as tarp, plastic bag, etc. I had to come up with DIY solution to block the heat. If you have cars with exhaust pipes pointing to the side or downward, you should be good....
