Cruelty-Free ZEUS 8oz Beard Shampoo - Luxurious Beard Wash

Chris: Got this trying to escape the endless sandalwood scented beard products. The smell is nice and subtle. Not super strong and doesn’t linger. As someone who has struggled with acne my whole life, this isn’t it. Keeps my beard looking and feeling clean and healthy, except for drying out my skin underneath. Causing acne that’s harder to treat with a thick and curly beard. I’ve had to trim it back and switch to my original beard wash. Wouldn’t recommend for folx with sensitive or acne prone skin. If you’re also struggling with acne, beard lotion reduces scabbing or irritation, but it doesn’t resolve the issue.

Pat C.: I have sensitive skin so I've tried so many different beard shampoos that claim to hyrdrate and help dry skin. I can confidently say this has been the one shampoo that has done that the best. The scents are really nice too and can maybe be a bit strong for some right out of the shower but it fades nicely and1,1 more importantly, keeps dry skin at bay. SOUTHERNHARV: I saw a list of top 10 beard dandruf treatment shampoos and this was number 2 on the list. Thought I’d give it a try as my beard gets flaky this time of year. So far too early to tell if it treats the issue well. I will say the scent was very pleasant. In the bottle it is a little strong but once you lather and work in it takes a warmer scent and really finishes pleasantly. Great lather, certainly feels good on the beard and really softens.
I have natural cowlicks on my cheeks when my beard grows out and surprisingly this seems to help tame them a bit more. A unexpected bonus. Seems like a very nice product.

Follow up: I have been using for over a month and I can say each time I use this wash it eliminates all dandruff skin build up. Just strips it off you. Very pleasant and you don’t feel the natural oil coming off your beard which is another bonus. I highly recommend this product if you are beard dandruff prone.

Jason Tyler: A good beard shampoo, although perhaps a bit overpriced. Works well on my larger, naturally course beard. It's clear that the formula is different to a standard hair shampoo and while in the hair, it feels thicker and seems to be cleansing without pulling all the oils out as head hair shampoo will. Overall good experience without any strong scents that linger.

I always preface my reviews of beard care products with this: one product alone will not magically make your scruffy beard look incredible. Basic care with a proper wash, combing and oil care will go a long way. Combine this with other products for best results.

Let's discuss.

Price wise - it is relatively expensive as a shampoo compared to other companies. However, this is balanced from the concentration of the product - a little goes a long way. Directions say quarter size amount of product, and yes, a quarter size is intact all you need. Other companies state the same, and I find myself using a lot more than directed to get a nice clean.

Smell - I got the sandalwood scented shampoo - first and foremost, it is most definitely not sandalwood. However, the smell is quite pleasant and manly, so i have 0 issue with that. A complaint I've read is that the smell does not last, this is very true. The moment you rinse out the beard, the scent goes away. I have 0 problems with that, because my beard gets its smell from the oils I use. This does not mean that your beard will smell stale after the wash, your beard smells of nothing which is actually nice.

Amazon Customer: This stuff is amazing. Surprisingly, it completely lives up to its claims.

A little background. I spent 6 years in the Navy and shaved every day. I have a very sensitive face, so this led to a lot of razor burn and ingrown hairs. I was always excited to grow out some scruff for a few weeks whenever I took leave. And, as anyone who has done that a few times knows, the first few weeks in growing a beard is the absolute, god-awful worst.

Now I'm out of the Navy and excited to grow a beard and stop shaving (it's pretty much tradition once someone separates from the military). For the first week, it was terrible. All the damage done to my face from shaving was only made worse once I let my hair grow out for more than a few days. The itch was unbearable, and at times, painful. I told myself to stick it through because once the full beard comes in, it'll be worth it. Knowing I was committed, I decided to purchase this product and it's accompanying conditioner.
