Enjoy the highest build quality, overall satisfaction, and value for money when you choose this knife as a gift. Barry B.: I originally bought this knife as a lower cost alternative to losing one of my expensive Benchmade or Spyderco knives (as has happened recently), most of which I have modified extensively, and therefore have sentimental value as well. I wanted go buy a knife that upon it's loss, would not weigh heavily on my mind.
Having said that, it would bother me to lose this knife; I like it a lot, specifically:
1. Construction. The IKBS ball bearing system requires a bit more space than would a simple bronze washer, yet the knife is very slim. The aluminum scales are replete with grooves and hollows which are NOT sharp edged, but do provide an improved grip. The knife also weighs less than I had anticipated. All of this translates to comfortable and less obvious pocket carry.
2. Clip. The pocket clip can be mounted in a single location only, unless one is adept with a small milling machine as well as drilling and tapping holes. The carry is therefore tip-up only, which I eschew, but the liner lock detent is more secure than most, so I am OK with it. The pocket clip is considerably shorter than is typical, or as need be. To me, this increases the chance of having it fall...

Dan: This knife is absolutely amazing. For this price it's almost a wonder how it's so cheap. Well we know why. Aluminum handle scales. But otherwise it's so solid. I'll start with a list. Lockup- early and solid. Action- so fast so smooth. Detent- pretty strong. Ergonomics- feels natural. I want to get into the ergonomics, this knife fits in the hand like you were born with it. The ergonomics just fit, it feels right and feels solid. The handles don't really have any hotspots either. Though they are a smooth aluminum. And let's get on the aluminum. I do love it. It's lightweight and cheap and pretty, at first. Aluminum beats up really easy though, it will dent and it will sing and will BEND. I dropped this knife while it was closed, it landed on the top and bent the aluminum down slightly, preventing the blade from deploying. Mind you it was no big deal as the aluminum was wildly easy to bend back to its original position. After that lock up is still right and aside from the smal dents from that it looks almost new. The blade is huge, handle to blade ratio is sick on this thing. Lots of blade hidden in there. And it's a nice bellied blade so it's great for slicing. But the tip is also...

syrik: Lets get the negative out of the way early. The pocket clip is junk. It's literally a millimeter thick of crappy metal that's designed to be pocket friendly, but structurally weak. It WILL break. Mine showed up weakened out of the box. The screws are as tight as tight gets, yet it bends when I simply hold the knife. Under a light, you can see stress fractures on the back/underside of the clip in the bend (Like when you bend a paper clip back and forth, how it changes color, metal fatigue). Thankfully CRKT offers free knife parts of various sorts upon request. I requested extra clips in anticipation of this clip breaking tomorrow (yes, it seems that fragile to me, had it two days). I have no reason to doubt CRKT will honor this and that's an excellent service in place of sharpening.
Edit: CRKT did send a new pocket clip and right away. Their service says to allow up to 3 weeks. It took a few days. Also, the replacement clip they sent is twice as thick, with nice beveled screw holes so that everything sits nice and level (the screw heads have a minor protrusion now). Clearly CRKT had some sub-par pocket clips shipped, but with free replacement and no questions asked, not a...
