jritchiemom: Purchased for my 6 year old as a in bed craft after surgery. She loves it. She got the hang of it really fast. All we needed in 1 box, a cute box! I love that the sewing needles are metal not plastic!!! Holes line up on the fabric.

** we are using backstretch in order to make it look like photos. Straight stitch is missing leading. My only complaint. I did have to reference YouTube on how to start a blanket stitch* but even with that? Still a 5 star kit!

Nancy Brule: It's everything I wanted it to be. My daughter loves it! She couldn't wait to put them together. It's an excellent teaching tool kit that builds confidence and results in adorable little keepsake dolls. She even had a specific friend in mind to gift each animal. Best purchase I've made for her this year!
The box is sturdy and adorable. It holds everything perfectly and can be used to store crafting supplies even after she completes all the animals. Very good quality. It's impressive for the price. I love that the needles are not super sharp, but they get the job done. It was organized inside and came with a pin cushion and cute little tools easy for kids small hands to use. Can't say enough about how awesome this gift turned out to be.

LadyoftheIvy: My seven year old had been asking for a kids sewing kit for awhile, and I had been looking for one that he might like when I came across this one. He's huge into animals, so this was perfect. It comes with the materials to make five woodland animals - a fox, a chickadee, an owl, a rabbit, and a bear, as well as the tools to make them (minus the scissors). He was very impressed that it had pins and a pincushion in addition to all the rest of it, since that meant he had his own pincushion like his older sister. The majority of the set is very well made - nice felt, nice embroidery thread, nice materials for the animals in general. The box itself is also well made, and he's taken to sometimes carrying it around even when he's not going to make an animal right then. (He's made two of them so far.) The only complaint I have with it? The needles - our metal needle broke the first time we tried to use it, and most of the plastic needles bent and/or broke even with the holes punched into the felt. (They're not very big, and not really lined up to sew the animals the way the instructions tell you to.) That being said, if you have any quality needles at home, you'll be fine. We just ended...

C. Ray: I bought one for my 5 year old girl and my 9 year old boy wanted one of his own. Good quality materials but it won't look quite like the pictures on the box. The pre-made holes don't allow the stitching they show but if you just work with it the animals turn out fine. They're cute, relatively easy to make - with a little adult help -, and seem to hold up pretty well. It's been a fun project I can do with my daughter. My son wanted to do it all himself and that will be more of a learning experience, I'm not sure his first one will stay together: it's as much glue as stitching.
