Hello Mojo: I'm loving this book so far. It simplified the process of learning Caligraphy to just the essentials. I have a couple other Caligraphy books that don't hold my attention because they're very academic and I loose focus.
I don't have that issue with this one. This is very streamlined to just the absolute essential information and techniques. I love it so far!

Heather Johnson Long: This is my new favorite hand lettering practice book! Clearly, if you are offended by expletives, this isn't for you. If you enjoy the occasional "sentence enhancers", you'll be cracking up just reading the instructions and technique tips. Well worth the price. Would make a great gift for your creative/artsy adult friends or family. Absolutely love it!!!

Les excercices et caractères sont les même que dans un autre livre, mais la pratique de mots est plus ...crunchi. J'ai bien ri en le feuilletant la première fois. Il y a différents types de polices à pratiquer. Je ne sais pas si il y a une version française par contre.

Azeene Roozbayani: So hard!!! Haha I’m trying to get more into handwriting and lettering. Other people make this look so easy! It’s also about finding the right brush pen to use too! I was using a pentel Japanese style brush pen and the tip is so flexible makes it harder. However I’ve saw reviews on the tombow fudenesko pens (totally spelt that wrong) that they have better tips and harder for easier control. See how it goes! This book is good though gets you practicing a lot!

ChicGeekChicGeek: I just received this book about 30 minutes ago and on the first page I flipped to randomly (page 7) I immediately spotted the glaring error that led me to proofreading the book before diving in. That is, a missing "e" on the word "downstroke" (top right corner of page - unmissable as it's an oversized font size.
I just spent 20 minutes on the first 8 pages to see how bad the editing is. And, the verdict is, that while the book presents the decent information, I find it highly ironic that in a book about lettering and the presentation of words that the writers can't seem to notice spelling errors, missing letters (typos), poor punctuation, poor spacing, and poor grammar overall. Too, it's a bit forced on the use of curse words and thus it reads somewhat unnaturally. (I am not offended by the words, however.)
Look, I don't expect this to be the Iliad; however, I do expect the book to be even remotely edited. I'd be more than happy to do so for a few quid.
As it stands, I'll leave it at 3-stars, for the content and worksheets only.

LD: I LOVE the sarcasm, dry humor aspect to this book. It’s straight to the point and fairly helpful. The only downfall to this book is the quality and texture of the pages. Obviously you pay for what you get so if you’re a beginner like me, I’d recommend using cheap markers/pens so you don’t destroy nice brush pens. If you can, I’d use crayola markers and/or pencils!
