Daniel Vergara: I mounted these both front and rear after reading the many positive reviews.
5k km after I am very satisfied. Never had scary slips or anything of the like. I feel really confident on these ones, and supposedly they offer great rolling resistance according to some elaborate tests (I wouldn't say you can feel it, and those who do most probably is the placebo talking).
Mileage was OK for me with 5k km on the rear, which is lower than I expected, but I've seen reviews of people getting much more, so it varies greatly based on weight, riding style, and roads.
Overall a tire that makes you feel safe, doesn't get a lot of punctures (I got 1 in 5k km), and that is supposed to make you faster.
Will buy again.

Timazon: I road Conti 4000s for years, the 5000s give very similar performance.

Supple ride, light weight, and great tread life.

I just changed the rear 700x28 tire on my road bike after 4,000 miles, it was finally worn down to nearly flush with the two tread life indicators. 4K miles for a lightweight tire is excellent, especially since the weight is under 250 grams.

Did have a couple of flats this season, but that’s to be expected unless you’re riding perfectly paved roads on thick commuter tires.

The 5000s are not as wide as the old 4000s, the 4000s came up as 27mm wide for a nominal 700x25 tire, the 5000s are a true 28mm wide in a 700x28 width, so Conti has brought the actual width in line with the stated width. Those measurements were on a 17mm internal rim, a wider rim will no doubt measure a millimeter or two wider.

The front tire is also at 4K miles, but it still has plenty of tread life left, my guess is it will last to 5k miles.

There’s a reason why Conti 5000s are consistently rated as one of the best road bike tires, they’re a perfect balance of ride quality, low weight, and durability.

Valerie Stone: After installation of the tires in mid July, I unfortunately got a flat after just 36 miles from an extremely small shard of glass. I held off giving a review so that I could put more miles on them. I have now logged approx 1100 miles on paved road/trails with no issues. For me, the ride is smooth and quiet. The wet grip seems to be excellent as I had to make a quick move to avoid a hazard without issue.

Horsebru: Great tires. Fast. My order never showed up so can’t speak to this particular supplier but bought them at my local shop and love them.

Noah T.: I love these tires. They feel amazing, ride quickly, and have decent puncture protection.

They're a pain in the butt to install, wear out, and aren't the most durable but they are so comfortable, corner so well, and are reliable. Compared to GatorSkins, these are heaven.

If you like riding and can afford these tires, they are well worth the money. I will continue buying these tires after mine wear out.

I have over 2000 miles on one set, and they still hold up. The front tire looks new except for some gouges in the rubber from glass, but still have plenty of rubber left. The rear is starting to square off and getting more flats, so probably time to replace. Not unhappy at all with the tires, and will order more soon.

Biker GuyBiker Guy: Dec 2021 Update:
It has been a couple of years since I started using the Conti 5000 tires and I feel it is time to update this review and rating. I originally gave the 5000 tires a three star rating when they came out because the were about "one size" narrower than the 4000s tires I had been running for a number years (both the original and " 4000s II" versions).

I still run Conti tires (Grand Prix 5000 "standard"...not TR or TL) on all three road bikes. I like the ride quality as well as the low rolling resistance based on some testing results available on the web. I also feel the tires have very good grip for the typical road surfaces I ride on (asphalt roads, cement bike trails). I can't speak to the wet road performance since I live in a dry climate.

As for flat resistance, I can't say I notice any stark improvement in flat resistance -- but this is a tough one to accurately quantify based on real world experience. I still get flats occasionally, but don't feel they are any worse than any high performance other tire would be.

The only downside to these tires is that they can be very expensive. If you rarely ride or budget is a...
