Syl: Can make lots of bags for vacuum sealing with these jumbo rolls. Works great for vacuum sealing cheeses, and meats as well as dried foods-check dried goods regularly to make sure they are still sealed. Makes green onions last much longer and keeps them fresh. Works well on some fresh vegetables but I wood not vacuum seal fresh tomatoes or cucumbers for it actually makes them go bad much faster-they sweat way to much. I sealed some carrots and after they were sealed for a while the bag leaked and the carrots turned dark brown over night, seems that carrots are better stored long term without vacuum sealing them.
I have had quit a few of these bags to lose their seal on fresh vegetables stored in the frig. But on cheeses-in frig and meats-in freezer they seem to keep their seal very good. I have only vacuum sealed some dried apple slices so far and they are still sealed after many months. They can be washed-warm soapy water and used again, but always wash them as soon as you empty them or they will stain, and mold will grow inside of them-common sense.
