Swab: Columbia always provides great outdoor products at an excellent value. These shorts are less than 1/2 the coat of most others. I purchased my regular size medium and they fit perfect, except the elastic band at waist is a bit too snug which makes them a bit annoying. I am a medium lean build so this isn't usually an issue for me but I do typically wear snap/button or drawstring shorts for kayaking and hiking. So perhaps elastic is just not for me. Still love the length and the loose fit fabric!

BC: Cute colour, weight and material remind me of Patagonia’s baggies. Waistband could be wider. I got my normal size and could get them on but they were too tight to be comfortable.

Real Life Reviewer: I ordered these shorts in black and am very happy with them so far. The fit is quite good and comfortable so I recommend ordering based on the size chart. They are a little baggier than pictured but that's great for doing outside work. The fabric is thin and light and perfect for hot summer days. It is also the type of material that dries very quickly. I already ordered a second pair in blue and am considering getting a third pair. I recommend these shorts and would give them 5 stars so far. As long as they hold up to wear and laundering for the next year I'll be happy.
Update: It's about 6 weeks or so since I got these shorts and I am still very happy with them. They wash and dry on the regular cycle very well and do not require any special care. I mentioned that the shorts are a bit baggy. This is actually a good thing as the material has no stretch at all. I find them comfortable and would look at buying more shorts as well as other items from this brand. I've never been a Columbia wear person but this year ordered shorts, a jacket and a skort (on sale of course, being a bargain hunter) and am thrilled with them all. Highly recommend. 5 stars.
