geezer: for inexpensive practical purposes it is hard to beat. I have other saws and some are more impressive regarding fine detail and high quality finish and all of that no so important stuff when saplings need dealt with. The thin blade which tapers away in thickness is perfect for avoiding binding . Why cut away more than needed to get through that branch or tree? Not getting stuck and staying ridiculously sharp is more important than other features when a light weight tool is needed to get a job done.

Dustin: I don’t normally do reviews, but I got I had to on this one. I originally bought it because I needed a pocket quickly and was on a budget. I figured I would get this and upgrade to something more quality a little down the road.

When I first got the saw and took it from the packaging, my first thought was of how cheap it felt in my hand. Really thin plastic, seemed like it was barely holding itself together. I didn’t think that it would hold up to even the smallest jobs. My second thought was how small it was. Granted, I did want a small saw, but I didn’t pay much attention to the dimensions, so that’s on me, but when I opened the blade it still fit nicely in my hand. So I put it in my pack for a few days and went back to amazon to find a better replacement.

I went to my bag to start double checking everything for an upcoming week in the field. As I’m packing everything and wrapping them in ziplocks, I come back to this saw. I again feel the cheap plastic and think that if I look at this wrong that it’s going to break.

BuyAlot: I bought this on 9/3 and it arrived 9/5! Yay for Prime! The saw's packaging is basic and there's some usage and safety info printed on the backside.

For example, this is a PULL saw. Meaning that it cuts on the pull action, not the push action. I gave it a try on the dense cardboard box in which it arrived. Clean slice with minimal effort on my part!

The blade seems strong, however, I will be sure to keep it dry as I am not sure of it could rust. There are two rows of super sharp teeth and each tooth is about 1/8" wide at its base.

The handle has a wide hole to put a strap through. The handle is light weight plastic. Very light weight. I like this because it will be easy to put in my 72 hour bag. The handle is also very smooth so I may add some roughness to it somehow to increase grip ability. I feel that the handle is sturdy and is long enough to give a good wide grip. As a side note, when it's fully extended with blade and handle this could definitely double as a decent self defense item if the situation presented itself.
