Peonies on the Beach: We have used this everyday for 5 years!! I’ve replaced the press grate part thing and the paint is coming off a bit but for daily use and being taken camping it still feels new. Highly recommend!!

YGW: It’s okay.
I can’t say it’s better than a Bodum. The action is not as smooth and the plunger is fixed so it’s hard to clean properly, and I imagine replacing will be a challenge.
But it’s solid.
Good for heat insulation and sturdy. Looks nice too.
Some reviewers complained of flaking colours, I’ve not had that problem, but I’m not in the habit of putting my cafetières in a dishwasher.
All in all I would say it’s decent but if you want a quality cafetière there are better brands out there.

S. DavalaS. Davala: My French press looks as a good as it did 2 years ago when I purchased it. I use it everyday and it's honestly an outstanding product. Very durable. You do not have to be as cautious with it as you do with the glass type of presses. I highly recommend this product

Steven P. Harvey: I’ve had mine for two weeks now and I have used it almost exclusively to make my morning coffee. I have two other French presses and seldom use them because the end result isn’t to my liking. Since my wife and I recently downsized our employment commitments, we travel more and I like good coffee but don’t care to sit in the drive through waiting for it. I have a travel size electric tea pot and make my own coffee just as I like it. The Coffee Gator is tough and insulated and I can enjoy a good book while sipping the best coffee I’ve ever made for as long as I like. The bonus coffee canister is too small for my needs but a quality product nonetheless.

R. S**g: Wow, I guess I've had mine for over five years (as of today). I use it almost every day, so well over 1000 uses. I've switched from french press to pour over method, so I can't comment on the durability of the press and the mesh. The container is really solid and easy to clean. My only complaint is the spout. The way it's designed, it drips after a pour. It's not a deal break. It's just a little annoying and now part of my morning ritual (wiping the table after a pour).

BruceM: Lets get some things straight which may address negative comments.

This cafetière does not double as a thermos. It will keep your coffee hot for no more than one hour. Comments complaining it doesn’t keep the coffee warm are irrelevant.
I bought the grey cafetière a few months ago. It looks the same the day that I bought it. To avoid some of the disasterous pictures showing the paint being chipped or peeling off just wash the item separate from other cups and dishes. And dont peel the paint off before you take a picture to make it look worse than it was either. That puts people off buying.
The cafetière will provide 4 generous cups of coffee at most.
The quality of the item is without question and properly looked after should see you never having to buy another one again.
Easy to clean
Filter is excellent. Keeps all the coffee grounds in the cafetière.

In summary I can’t fault this product. My only complaint is I now drink too much coffee.

Neil P Tucker: Gator cafetière, is well designed has a good weight and filter system appears faultless so far!
Coffee keeps hot for well past the steeping time, haven’t tested heat retention as I drink coffee too quickly.
Although the Gator brand is pricier than some - it’s definitely worth the extra cost as looks fabulous, holds up to 1ltr and so far appears very robust. Cleans very well although haven’t tried in dishwasher as am afraid logo will disappear.
The free supplied pot, presumably for beans is way too small; however is made from solid glass with a metal and plastic lid.
I would definitely recommend this filter press to any serious coffee lover. My coffee tastes every bit as good when compared to my neighbours very expensive well known brands! The process is a little longer on the brewing side and so much quieter. Coupled with a manual electronic hand frother, the Gator comes up trumps.

M. Peterson: I'll start by saying I absolutely LOVE this insulated french press coffee maker. My husband needs decaf, I NEED caffeine and we had been using Keurig, but I HATED the waste. My glass French Press didn't keep my coffee hot enough, and it took forever to brew cup by cup. With this I can make my morning's batch of coffee and it stays hot. From Christmas onward, I have used this daily.

Wednesday morning I noticed the fine mesh filters were feeling rough and sharp and I contacted the company to see if I could order replacements. Not a difficult or even an unusual request. Or so I thought.

Thus followed a FOURTEEN email exchange! They wanted my order number and photos and all matter of nonsense. I was not home and I just kept asking if I could simply get replacement filters? It was not a warranty request I was making. They are a piece I imagine needs replacing now and then. Getting nowhere, I got them to give up on the order number (I'm lazy and it was gift anyway) but I did provide them with the requested photos.

I got an email saying to expect the replacements by July 11. Well, the very next day I received an entire new coffee maker!!

So, on one hand,...
