meyert: I was hesitant to buy this press after reading the reviews. I think the reason for the finish flaking off is because these are being put in the dishwasher. I simply rinse mine and dry with a paper towel. My press does not make any sound . This press is built to last and makes a delicious cup of coffee. I detected no metallic taste . The storage jar that comes with it is the size of a baby food jar. I plan to use it to store spices. I am thrilled with my purchase and would not hesitate to buy this as a gift.

Zachary Wenzel: I've only used drip coffee machines, but going on our third machine in a year at only 1 cup a day for me and my wife I decided to try something different. I bought this, looked up tips on Google on how to make a good batch of coffee. My first batch was a little strong, so I lowered it half of one of my scoops and the next batch was the best ive ever had. Takes me about 15 minutes to complete and easy to clean.

MAB: This thing is very solid and well-made. After another glass French press broke (in the dishwasher this time), I decided to try this one. My only complaint is that I miss not being able to see how much coffee is left inside, but at least I don’t have to worry about breaking it!

Lisa Holland: I wasn’t sure about going with a metal French Press, but after breaking 2 glass ones this year, I figured it couldn’t be worse. This thing is amazing! The top has a little arrow that shows you where the spout lines up, simply twist the top so the arrow points to the side and it closes off that air gap at the spout which keeps your coffee hot! My only concern was not being able to see the level of grounds from the outside when initially adding them to the press. I just kind of eyeballed the grounds from the grinder itself, and it’s quickly become a no brainer as to how much to add. Overall, I love this thing, I don’t see myself breaking this one, maybe denting it, but not breaking 😉

Roderick: I bought this French press as it advertised not to leave coffee ground residue in the bottom of your coffee cup. This is true! It keeps the heat as well and is very easy to clean after use. Another great product by Gator!!!

YGW: It’s okay.
I can’t say it’s better than a Bodum. The action is not as smooth and the plunger is fixed so it’s hard to clean properly, and I imagine replacing will be a challenge.
But it’s solid.
Good for heat insulation and sturdy. Looks nice too.
Some reviewers complained of flaking colours, I’ve not had that problem, but I’m not in the habit of putting my cafetières in a dishwasher.
All in all I would say it’s decent but if you want a quality cafetière there are better brands out there.

M. Peterson: I'll start by saying I absolutely LOVE this insulated french press coffee maker. My husband needs decaf, I NEED caffeine and we had been using Keurig, but I HATED the waste. My glass French Press didn't keep my coffee hot enough, and it took forever to brew cup by cup. With this I can make my morning's batch of coffee and it stays hot. From Christmas onward, I have used this daily.

Wednesday morning I noticed the fine mesh filters were feeling rough and sharp and I contacted the company to see if I could order replacements. Not a difficult or even an unusual request. Or so I thought.

Thus followed a FOURTEEN email exchange! They wanted my order number and photos and all matter of nonsense. I was not home and I just kept asking if I could simply get replacement filters? It was not a warranty request I was making. They are a piece I imagine needs replacing now and then. Getting nowhere, I got them to give up on the order number (I'm lazy and it was gift anyway) but I did provide them with the requested photos.

I got an email saying to expect the replacements by July 11. Well, the very next day I received an entire new coffee maker!!

So, on one hand,...
