John Uicker: My pup is almost 15 years old and his teeth are not great. He doesn't like things that are hard to chew. We have been mashing this up to powder and then mixing it with peanut butter. I plan to try it with cottage cheese. If he knows it is good for him he automatically is not interested.

I started using this with SAMe from Coco and Luna to replace the Denamarin shortage a few years ago and have never gone back. My dog takes the Milk Thistle and SAMe willingly unlike Denamarin where I practically had to force it down his throat and he would try to spit it out every time (even when I wrapped it in Greenies pill pockets)! It was so stressful trying to give him Denamarin every day until I had to (thankfully) find alternatives to it. It turned out to be the best thing that happened to us. We’re both so happy with the switch. I have to give my boy 3 pills daily in combination with 3 SAMe according to his weight. He likes these and swallows them like treats every day! OMG! chard04: Our 13 year old Wheaton had been showing signs of kidney failure, as our vet had confirmed by her blood tests. She was vomiting her breakfast up roughly twice to three times per week, had a loss of appetite, began urinating very frequently, so much so that we had to begin using pee pads because she wasn't able to hold it through the night. She was drinking LOTS of water, and seemed to be very confused much of the time. After some extensive research, I decided to begin giving her natural supplements, including the milk thistle, first at half dosage, then gradually (over the course of a week) increasing the dosage to 2 tablets/day.
