pete77777777: I probably have 200 miles on mine; they work great. Note for people with beveled mirror edges, like on my 2019 Jeep GC - check to see if the bottom is beveled. On mine the top edge is beveled but the bottom edge isn't --- so I install mine up-side-down (on the bottom edge). And they stay attached, I've been up to 65 mph. I take mine on-and-off with some frequency, and that works pretty well (they reasonably hold their position when off if you treat them with care). One warning if you install them up-side-down - make sure you turn of the "close the mirrors in when you lock the car" feature - as in my case these will rub-up against the door if you do that when they are installed up-side-down.

ElizabethSElizabethS: I like these mirrors because of their flexibility. Totally ambidextrous, top or bottom of mirror, driver or passenger side. The bad reviews aren’t quite fair since it should be obvious that you have to tighten the screws and check them regularly! I do and never had a problem. However, I did have a problem with my car mirrors. The additional wind resistance caused my car mirror to whip back into the car door causing the trailer mirror to fly off. I used duck tape on my car mirror to prevent it from moving. Problem solved.

Simon Perkins: This mirror is not perfect, but after having tried many other styles, it's the only universal mirror that I've found that actually functions as a decent towing mirror.

It's primary advantage over other universal mirrors is that you can extend it out much further, meaning you can actually see behind your trailer, which is, after all, the whole point if these things. Most of the other universal mirrors, including the other CIPA ones, are universally useless in this respect.

It's quick to put on and take off, and, crucially, doesn't interfere with the operation of the existing power mirror (at least on my Honda Pilot). It also gives a clear image and doesn't vibrate too much.

Now for the negatives. There are two main flaws. The first is that, if you don't take precautions, you WILL eventually lose the mirror. There's too much surface area sticking out into the airstream for the little clamps to hold. Some day you'll be driving at 65mph and a large truck will pass by in the other direction and your driver side mirror will be gone. I'm just buying my 5th one of these for this reason! I plan to make some mods this time: either a retaining loop, or...

Mary: I would like to give this item no star rating but Amazon review page won't let me. I had used these mirrors for trips of varied lengths. They were used on a 2003 Tundra. I bought 2 from another dealer and 1 from Amazon. I lost the 2 from the other dealer and the one from Amazon has another bad clamp.
The upsides are;
1. they are easy to install and are adjustable.
The down sides are;
1. The clamps do not stay tight. They came loose and I lost the first mirror on our 2nd trip with them. It was about 5 miles on the highway. I then ordered another one from Amazon. I lost the second one after 8 trips at the exact same spot. I was doing 55 -60 mph no bumps, passing vehicles ,etc. to blame. I checked the tightness both times prior to leaving, careful not to under or over tighten. The third one, from Amazon, has a loose clamp which I cannot tighten.
2. The nut which tightens the adjustable bar on one assembly will not stay tight.
3. The mirror will not stay tight for a trip over 30 miles. All you will see is roadway or (usually) the sky.

Scott F.: I tow a lot! Boats, travel trailers, box trailers, you name it, I've towed it. I have had the CIPA Custom slip on mirrors, the suction cup mirrors, the front fender clamp on mirrors and one, I repeat, NONE have fit so quickly, fit so well, provided as large a field of view and been as easily installed and removed as these mirrors! I rarely write reviews, but this is a product I literally couldn't live without, since we have a new travel trailer. The hardware is all metal construction with the exception of the mirror itself and the rubber feet on the clamps. The two clamps adjust via provided Allen/hex wrench to conform to most OEM mirror housings. The mirrors themselves are almost as large as my OEM mirrors and provide a large, clear field of view. The clamps are ABS plastic construction and the rubber padded steel clamps ensure a tight, no slip fitment to existing mirror housings. Do take care when tightening the mounting clamps, as they will crack if tightened too much. I found out the hard way on my fourth camping trip. Well worth the money!
