I took down my old towel rack filled holes, sanded and painted the whole bathroom. put up the towel warmer. The bars do get hot but the towels do not get warm.

David - Mono, Ontario: Website image shows a polished nickel, which is more than likely the Chrome image. Description is not accurate. Actual product construction is not very high quality, but probably a reflection of the price I guess. Returned without any problems.

Travelnblond: The Kensington towel warmer is a replacement of same product we installed in a new house we built in 2006. Loved it. After 10-11 years the thermostat failed. Quite reasonable since it was on for the whole time. I contacted the company and they don't make these anylonger but told me to check AMAZON.com. I actually, like this newest one better as it isn't as hot! The first one was way way hot and I burned my bare hip while drying off, when I backed into it. My fault entirely. This newer towel warmer even looks better. It is "polished nickel" and looks great with all the other hardware in our master bath. It holds two Bath Sheets (yes, SHEETS my husband is 6'4"), quite well, plus the towel I use for my hair. We wanted the same exact product due to the plug in placed by our builder specifically for this product and the holes in the wall to hold it. The cord on it comes LONG. My husband shortened the cord so it plugs right into the wall. Rather like the picture of it in the ad. My husband can do most household repairs including electric.

Bartschhaus: I read some of the negative reviews and was a bit skeptical. I have had the older version of this heating rail for over 13 years. We use it 24/7 and the old heating rail lasted 13 years before the heating elements failed. Not too bad. This new one was supposed to be more flimsy according to some reviews. I can't say that. The heating rail is just as thick in material as the previous one. The rivets at the side are different than before and the cross pieces are probably screwed and not welded as the previous one. The wall anchors used to be cast metal. Now they are plastic. However, I don't see that the plastic ones will break under normal use. As long as your grown kids don't hang from the rail the system should be functional. The nicest thing was that I could just unhook the old one and three out of four wall anchors fit exactly for the new rail - 13 years later they used almost the same dimensions. Easy to install and it is great to have warm towels again.

Smart Shopper: Bought a smaller one from a bath retailer; we've had it for three years and it works great! This one, for another bathroom, cost 60% of what I paid for the first one.

Darren Paget: Nice to have warm rowels. Like the fact that it uses very little power.
Switch seems a little cheap, but we shall see how it lasts.

Omicron Ceti: When we decided to "down-size" (which in reality means "up-spend") from grass-all-around to a town-home, my wife had an electrical outlet installed near the bathtub to accommodate a future towel warmer. I had no idea such a thing existed. After receiving enlightenment, we looked around quite a bit and finally settled on this one. Installation was straightforward with eight dry-wall anchors. There's a wire-in option but the plug-in is standard and that's what I used. A left-side cord option would have been nice instead of just the right-side. I turned the unit on and it's stayed on since, keeping towels snuggly warm and drying washcloths and delicates. Note that the cross-rails get hot enough to burn you but not so hot that you'll get burned if you retract immediately. A practical aspect is that the towels and washcloths never sour and may require less frequent washing. After all, you're already clean when you use the towel to dry off.
In response to some of the negative reviews: I thought installation was easy and don't think wiring-in is essential. A bathroom has cords everywhere already (curlers, hair dryer, razor, shaver, toothbrush, etc.) so one more thing plugged in isn't...

Jayna Wondertwin: I just completed an extensive remodeling of my master bath. One of the items that was a "must have" was a towel warmer. I requested the contractor install one, but when I saw the one he bought I knew it was way too small. So, I had him return it and I bought this one from Amazon. I installed it myself. The only complaint is that attaching the bottom leg next to the switch is nearly impossible. I have a flexible bit that allows me to bend my screwdriver in all manners to get in tight spaces; there was NO way I could figure out how to get the top screw in this leg put in. I ended up leaving it out as the towel rack seems very solid with seven of eight screws in place. I leave mine on all the time. Hanging on it daily, I have a bath sheet for me, another large towel that I use to wipe down my new shower with every day (it gets soaked), a washcloth, a hand towel and a bath mat. They are all dry and toasty, ready to be used by the next morning. I really love it and I know I'm going to be really happy this summer when it's humid. In the past, my towels wouldn't completely dry if it was really sticky. Now they'll be nice and dry.

MJ: At first I thought a towel warmer was a bit much but I don’t regret getting this at all. It looks amazing, maintains a specific temperature, fits the width of my towels, and dries towels quickly. A great add-on if you have the space and outlet!
