Nicmac: Our "Breea" is a two year old part Persian rescue cat. This toy is wonderful for her because she enjoys playing with it from time to time and not all the time! I say that because the noise from it may play on a human's nerves if it were an 'all the time' thing! lol

StephSteph: I was looking for a toy to alternate with my kitten's tower of tracks and this is a great alternative! He doesn't play with it as much on his own, but still plays with it here and there. It always catches his intetest when we make the ball move or the spring. The toy is sturdy, although the little spring occasionally comes out. Great option if your cat also prefers flat scratching surfaces over scratch posts.

I'M UPDATING my review. Still rates 5 stars. It needs FRESH CATNIP. Little bag of poor quality catnip comes with the toy should be thrown away. Go to a pet store and buy fresher dried Catnip for $5 enough for weeks of fun. 2nd tip: take the cardboard cover and cut it down to fit between the scratch pad and the plastic grid. It will stop catnip from falling through and making a mess on your floor. Cat shows no interest in scratching the cardboard pad if you don't sprinkle quality catnip on it. Still, it's a terrific toy! Good scratch pad, too, with good catnip.
If the cat pops the ball out, put it back. Don't replace it. The ball has an internal gyroscope which makes the direction it rolls unpredictable. Fascinating and a challenge to kitties. Kudos about the bug on the spring: it's remarkably durable. We love this toy.

Sandy Y: I bought this toy for my 8 feral cats that were scheduled for euthanasia. I was going to purchase a 2nd unit until I saw that a replacement CARDBOARD disc would cost more than the original unit. This is so sad, because my beautiful babies were finally connecting to us and each other.
