Cheryl: I probably tried 10 different litters over the years. I now have three cats and two litter boxes, and I could never stand the smell even if I cleaned it every day. I tried every litter before this one. My cats refused to use pretty litter and other litters. I saw people complaining about the smell, so I bought the unscented one. It smells like a very nice lightwood. A clumps very well. And has no bad smell to it at all, unless you’re walking in right after one of them took a dump lol but that goes away. I also saw people showing pictures of their cats with sawdust all over them. I have a black cat and that is not the case at all. I haven’t Matt in front of the litter box, and it does not track much further than that. Unlike all other litter I have ever had. The bags are very light and the litter is very light. The only downfall I could say, is you have to sift more. But the only reason for that is because you’re taking much less out and it is about a 1/4 of the weight of clump litter. And since you’re taking so little out the bag really last a long time I just ordered my second bag. For two large boxes. And I’m not out yet after two months with three cats! So no it does...

Jayne Kercheval: I love that there's no scent, and I never detected any ammonia smell, and I have two cats. It doesn't clump very well, and often the clumps fell apart in the scoop and ended up back in the pan. Sadly, it tracks as badly as clay litter. My one female has gotten pieces between her toes that clump up and stick terrible. I've started putting olive oil / calendula oil on her feet to soften the matting that is happening. Both cats will stick their feet in their water dish periodically. I wish I could train them to do that every time they leave the litter box! I have since ordered the ORANGE BAG for multiple cats: the pine scent is not bad, but it clumps even less than the blue.

Jennifer: When the kitty litter I have used for years (Tidy Cats Pure Nature) was discontinued I tried to find something similar. I got a 10 lb bag of this to use in the meantime while I searched. At first, I was annoyed to discover how little came in the bag for the price and thought it looked like sand so I was skeptical. I was anticipating mess and smell. I couldn't have been more wrong. We have been using it for 3 weeks now with two cats in one litterbox. There is no smell (and also no scent to the litter itself that I can discern)l, it clumps well and there is even much less tracking than there was with the previous litter. I have not done a complete clean-out yet because with daily scooping it hasn't needed it, so I didn't rate the ease of cleaning. Overall though it worked so well, I just ordered 20 more lbs.

Judy: I cannot rate the absorbency or the ease of cleaning because our 3 cats REFUSED to use the one litter box that had a small amount of the litter. As soon as I opened the bag I had a feeling they might not like it because of the strong (almost floral) scent.
When I initiated the return process, Amazon's website said to "print the return label, box it up and drop-off at the UPS store." When I printed the label I saw an additional 'MESSAGE FROM THE COMPANY:' donate litter to a local shelter.'
NOW I was really confused so I went through Amazon's support site to ask what to do. They had me send a message to the company. The reply came about two hours later that YES, I should donate it and YES my refund would be processed. It's evening and none of the cats have used that box. I'll probably dump it out tomorrow and start fresh with their regular non- clay litter.

The litter box set up that I have works well for clay litter, but not this wood chip set up, which requires a sifting tray to sift out the used litter from the unused, so honestly, it’s not practical for your average litter box.
Also, my first baby has longer hair (she’s part Maine coon) so the bits can get stuck to her from time to time, so it’s actually a little trickier to clean up.
It was definitely interesting to try, but sadly not quite practical for my needs. Might be better for shorter haired cats, and definitely best with a sifting set up.
