B.J.: Great value for the money, this brand never disappoints. Was a gift for a coworker whos papaw had passed. Had his DOD engraved on it, he was speechless when he opened it.

James S.: I've seen some reviews where people had quality control issues and some complaints but I looked very closely at this knife and it is flawless. Beautiful knife that is absolutely perfect.
If you know how to take care of carbon steel blades then you will love this knife.
For all of you that don't know how, or don't want to make the effort to care for carbon steel then get the SS version of this. You will be much happier with the stainless.
The blades on this knife are showing very slight signs of patina right out of the box. Not a problem but obviously they will develop corrosion easily without some care.
Blades are very sharp right out of the box. Springs are strong enough to hold the blades open but yet easy to open. Just right.
My first Case knife was way back in the 60's and honestly this knifes' quality is exactly as I remember them to be.
I'm glad that an American company with the history that this company has is still making high quality products.
Pocket knives have gone through some serious changes over the years and most are good changes that make for a better knife, but this is a throw back to the old days of pocket knives and it is a great knife as...

bmrider71: This is the first Case knife I've bought, and I'm duly impressed. I have other "premium" brand pocket knives, as well as a slew of less glamorous brands (e.g., Opinel and Victorinox) for comparison, and I find myself carrying the Case much more than I thought I would.
First off, the fit and finish are excellent. No cover, bolster or pin fitment issues, and nearly non-existent gaps in the liner (on par with my Great Eastern Cutlery(GEC) offerings and miles ahead of my Queen knife). The blades have no horizontal or vertical play, and arrived very sharp (better than either my GECs or Queen) . A quick stropping made them even sharper with no drama. The grinds and polish are very nice and smooth with no sharp edged to tear your pocket liners. The spring strength is great: strong enough to lend good "talk" to the blades, but soft enough to leave your fingernails attached.
Second, the size. I have large hands, so gravitate to the 4"+ closed length knives. The trapper is a big enough knife to be comfortable under prolonged use with its long grip and broad back, and is comfy with either the clip or the spey blade deployed. It's not quite as nice to hold as a fixed blade knife...

Billy Hulett: Good quality knives I've toted one in my pocket all my life, I just tend to loose them every few years and have to buy another. Always buy the trapper. Cv blade because of the ease of sharpening and how it holds its sharpeners, these blades do rust and that's how you know you got a good blade the surgical steel and stainless to me are hard to sharpen and don't hold a edge very well then will get dull without even useing it unlike the cv blades only thing diff with this blade than all the others I've carried all my life is the blade is labeled cs instead of cv which I do not like but suppose to be similar still. Not sure what's up with that but love my knife and will always continue to buy and carry the case trapper cv /cs blade
