Amazon Customer: My nephew LOVES this - he's only 5 and he's able to use it without issues. Really glad it has the built-in light, as I'm not sure it would work as well without the illumination.

Eric: The image quality and zoom range are excellent. The lamp is a bit dim, especially at high magnification. It is nice and compact, easy to carry around. The quality of construction is also good. It is a very good value.

Alex: I was in the search for a microscope to look at various microorganisms in my aquariums. I stumbled upon this and saw many reviews saying to just get a loupe.
So, I purchased this microscope and a JARLINK 30x 60x loupe to compare.
The microscope has MUCH better magnification. The proclaimed 60x magnification on the loupe is a load of crap. The microscope on 20x magnification zooms in more than the loupe with 60x magnification.
In terms of clarity, they're both great but the microscope remains clear even with higher magnification.
The loupe does have its advantages though. It's, MUCH easier to use. You just put the lens directly on top of whatever you're looking at and you'll see it. On the other hand, it's a lot trickier with the microscope. The lens is positioned pretty high up and far away from the contact surface (of what you're trying to look at), so trying to line them up can be very frustrating. Your hands have to be still so that when you adjust the magnification you don't lose what you're looking at. Not to mention the image is reversed, so you have to remember right = left, up = down, etc... very hard to control at first, but I got better and...

Giacomo: Nice gadget. The optical quality is surprisingly good and the zooming effect is quite powerful. The only not so great part is tat it doesn't fit quite well with my iPhone 13. But you can use it just fine with your naked eye.

SkySky: This pocket microscope has a field of view that allows you to see across a 5 mm diameter at the lowest zoom setting, and 3 mm diameter at the highest zoom setting. The image is inverted as expected with these types of pocket microscopes.
The angled cool white LED light is very well executed, with a tactile button at the top to electronically switch it on or off. The unit operates from an AA cell, and consumes about 42 mA when powered on, and about 7 uA when shutdown, so a single Alkaline cell should last for about 50 hours of powered up use, which is really good. You could us the pocket microscope unpowered in very bright ambient light, e.g. outdoor sunshine, depending on how you position things.
To get more of the really good stuff out of the way, I have to say, the image quality is excellent - not just for the price of the pocket microscope, but excellent in general too. Carson magnifiers and microscopes usually use aspheric plastic lenses, which provide a noticeably flat image across the field of view, compared to old-school non-aspheric, often glass, lenses. I love that there is no significant distortion when looking through the microscope, across the entire...

Michael J. Lohr: This is a neat little scope. It fits right into.... well almost anything you want while traveling around. Optically though it's a little tricky to find and keep focus on your subject you're trying to look at. The construction is also something to watch out for. It was in a padded pocket of my backpack, and while shuffling around in there the case started to split in 2. The optics still work, but I can't seem to get the case to fit tightly back together.
I decided to buy the Carson Microbright Plus handheld scope for a few dollars more and I cannot be happier with that purchase. That little pocket scope is easy to use, portable and delivers a crisp image. Working outdoors in the mountains full time - I bring that scope everywhere with me. This MicroPen sadly I usually leave at home.

J52: For the price and for what it is meant to do, this microscope is a great value. I would say this is just more for general curiosity than anything else. It's particularly entertaining to look at money, coins, etc. with this thing. Did you know that some of the lines on the Massachusetts driver's license actually microscopically say "Massachusetts" over and over? It's little things like this that you discover!
In terms of the lens, it's just plastic. While the quality of the image will obviously not be as great, but it's a microscope that you are going to be carrying around, so it's probably safer that it's plastic. Mine pretty much floats around in my backpack, getting knocked around by calculators, pencils, and books, and it still works great 6 months on. The image has always been a little bit "foggy" with some distortion near the edges of the field of view. There's the classic "blueing" of the edges of the field of view as well--in part due to the light from the LED. The focus wheel is at what I would say is a comfortable stiffness, and will loosen with use. I use this quite often, and the wheels have not loosened to a point where the microscope goes out of focus. I don't...

Lucy: Microscopio portatile, piccolo ma incredibile l'ingrandimento che può fare. Bisogna prenderci la mano perché è un po' laboriosa la messa a fuoco e la ricerca dell'oggetto da analizzare.
