Linda L Hardy: We love this product... We use it in most all of our cooking... If you know about ghee you know that it's butter without the fat and coconut oil this type of coconut oil is good for you... I've been buying this product for years I usually buy from Carrington but they were out as it seems of the coconut oil and ghee so there were other sellers I chose one other one before I went with best global products unfortunately it was never delivered even though it said it was I sent a message to the company and they never responded so I contacted Amazon and their customer service is always so great great I wanted a replacement at first but seeing as this company did not respond I just wanted my money back which was given to me as an Amazon gift card which is fine but best global products I ordered on the day I was supposed to receive my other ghee... The expected delivery was supposed to be the 16th to the 18th.... But it was happily delivered today on the 14th so I was very happy about that if Carrington is out in the future I will definitely buy from this company again until all you out there who are curious about this product you need to try it out it's worth the money ...

trancelucence: [Update below] I haven't a basis of comparison, haven't purchased a blend like this before, but I hoped for a pronounced buttery taste. I could just barely detect a butter flavor. I wanted to use it in place of butter on oatmeal and grits, in particular. Didn't work for me, when I added enough to be able to taste they were too oily. I like ghee, it's lighter and more flavorful- I think the proportion of ghee in this must be relatively small.

Update: I added a star because I found I DO like it in dishes for which a little oil is customary, like pork-fried rice and stir-frys (and unlike porridge, rice and veggies don't absorb this blend, so you CAN taste the ghee, and a little goes a long way). I'm on a new low-fat vegetarian diet (experimenting) and made a version with brown rice, Soy TVP chunks (Barry Farms, so good) and a few peas. I didn't actually fry it, I added a tiny amount of this on the plate (not even a teaspoonful). I sprinkled with chives and a little onion salt, and it was very close to our family recipe, a favorite.
