Stephen: There is a 1mm gap at the bottom, but may not be a problem for most. These are not as good as the stock whip antenna for reception. For the station I listen to, I got 100km range with the whip and only 75km with these.

The look good though.

tom headrck: Where I live, I can't get much reception that I want to listen to anyway. I listen to iheart radio on my phone. So for me these don't improve reception but i like the looks better than whips.

See Em: They seem to be good in the city but I haven't used on the highway yet. They are the size I was looking for, it will make it easier to put the dust cover on the bike. There is a small gap at the bottom between the antenna and the factory bracket so I put a O ring on the bottom of the antenna. I would give them a 5/5 but I haven' t used on the highway and I will wait to see if they last.

Stratovarious: Really nice product but as others have mentioned the threads
are not deep enough. (2009 Electra Glide Ultra Classic) .
You can washer it up to take up the slack, I don't want to do that.
I will keep these, but am really not happy that they could say these
are right for my bike when they are not right for my bike, how is that
even possible , right?
I have a 13'' set also , but I cover my bike all the time, so when around
local I thought I'd buy these shorties so as not to need to unscrew the
13'' set everytime I put the cover on. These little guys are perfect for that,
also , being carbon fibre or imitation plastic (I don't care really) , they are
rigid, so if the cover presses on them they won't develop a hook/curve like
flexible antennas do.
I drilled the receiver hole about 1/16'' deeper to see if that would allow them
to seat further, but it didn't seem to matter, so you'd have to drill 3/16'' or so
then tap out more threads, also alum shavings came out, so you'd probably wind
up ruining the reception. I actually don't care about reception for my bike, but
either way, if you find the right washers you can fill the gap that way....
