C-Cose Daley: From the description, I expected this to be lightly sanded paper - ideal for pastel & other dry media. It is not sanded paper. It is nothing more or less than mildly textured heavy construction paper. It responds best to oil / was pastel or pencil crayon; it is less suited for chalk pastel.

Terri: I'm new to pastels, so I don't have much to compare it to, however it's a deep black that really allows your colours to pop, I imagine the texture is pretty standard for pastel papers, sometimes I like to work on the flip-side which is much smoother, so it's nice to have that option as well. It's very durable and takes multiple layers with no problem. I'd buy it again.
