Canine Dewormer: Panacur C (Fenbendazole), 1 Gram

Karen: I used this to treat a planaria outbreak in my fish tank. It's fish safe and shrimp safe, and pest snails won't be affected by it. But you have to remove mystery snails and nerite snails ahead of time and keep them out until all of the medication is gone. I dosed 0.15 g for a 10 gallon tank, so that would be 1.5 g for a 100 gallon tank. Dosed three times, 48 hours apart, though some people only have to do two doses. It killed all of the planaria, and I haven't lost any fish or cherry shrimp. I am now running activated carbon for a few weeks before I add my mysteries back in. There is an aquarium-specific version of fenbendazole as well, but there's no need to buy that--the active ingredient is all that matters, and this is much cheaper than the one advertised for fish.

I recommend buying the small size of this that has one gram per packet, since a little goes a long way in a fish tank.
